Gears of War campaign is good. I played once through casual, hardcore, and then insane (got as far as I could). If you want replay value out of the campaigns, it lies in the difficult. It's the like the samething with Drake's Crushing mode or playing Mario Galaxy longer by playing to get 120 stars rather than stopping at 60. It gets more challenging. With Halo 3, I played over 2 hours into the campaign and STILL didn't find it that enjoyable/worth to play so I just stopped. The multiplayer is the only thing satisfying imo (even though I think that portion is over rated too). People praise Halo 3 for being balanced, but when you think about it, I don't think it was really hard for Bungie to balance the game out when there is barely any teamwork involved. It's not like TF2 or Killzone 2 with different classes. Those games are a lot harder to balance.
And let's not forget that to get that multi-player you're forced to buy new maps.Michael324
No you dont. I ahvent bought a single GeoW map and i play it every day. halo on the other hand, ive bought all of them. Thats truley the best MP game on xbox. Playing with your friends on forge is awesome.
Try COD4 and get back to me. COD4 is vastly superior to any other FPS I've played on a console, ever. Is this a joke? Did you not get into gaming until 2007 or something?[QUOTE="ekalbtwin"]They are both far above average and as such get a lot of hate and are both over rated. mD-why do you say far above average..? Just say they are relatively good games, lol... and how can something be far above average and overrated? what the hell
It just seems to me that online multi-player is the only way to get ANY kind of replay out of them.Michael324Nope. I've replayed Gears and Gears 2 campaigns a couple of times.
It will get there.Yes, they are that good (except for GeOW2's MP, just a few more tweaks please).

I think the first resistance fall of man had was the most complete shooter i have played, very good single player 10- 12 hours with multiple difficulties and great online. Sadly the second had a pretty weak single player. I beat Killzone 2 in 5 hours and the online is only decent. Halo is average i prefer the weapons from resistance, And i couldn't get through the second level in Gears of War without realizing its just another generic shooter with no story and grunts who love to say "Hell Yeah". Im tired of fps, these days all i play are single player games or sports games online.
I enjoy them quite alot actually. I went through Halo 3's story about 4 times already with some friends (Gears 1&2 about 3 times max I believe).
Also, I don't remember being forced to pay for maps for any of them in order to play their multiplayer. :|
