Since like every game Xbox gets PC gets aswell and they both are involed alot with MS?
Even Xbox's Flagship game(Halo) is on PC
This topic is locked from further discussion.
You would think so, but really it's far from the truth. Microsoft is trying to bring the two fanbase together but fanbase themselves themselves push each other away. Hermits are upset that M$ "Sold out" and is trying to force them to be console games. Lemmings complain about they games going onto PCs with more features and better graphics saying that they favor PC gamers over them.Nerkcon
MS is not trying hard to bring the two together. They release games on both for profits only. They are not thinking about the SW arguments or something absurd.
P.S. I love 360 and PC but would also have to take my PC if I was forced to choose. I would miss you Dead Rising.
Sometimes the war doesn't seem to be Nintendo vs PlayStation vs Xbox vs PC. But consoles vs PC. Hermits have unfair advantages, they don't have 'generations' and like consoles do so all their AAAs blend in. And they get games a lot more often and PC game designers don't need to worry about Walmart giving them slack and letting their game in the VERY small PC section since most PC gamers buy their games online.
EDIT: Also, their platform doesn't really have a 'head guy' and developers don't need to pay for any legal or loyal fees to make PC games like they do for consoles.
Halo is on the Mac too -Mac fanboys don't even have a nick name so I don't know what to call themiowastate
Could've sworn (Apple) worms was the official nickname.
[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]All I have to say is that I love my Xbox 360 and I love my PC. Of course if I had to choose, I'd drop kick my 360.user_nat
I'd drop kick my 360 before my PC also.. it weighs less. (And I do sorta need my PC for educational purposes)
No. Hermits have a really strained relationship with Microsoft after Vista and this Games for Windows Live crap that Micrsoft is pushing.
But more importantly, PC and 360 are two different systems, and although they share more games than any other pairing of systems, they still each have enough exclusives to seperate themselves from each other just as much as any of the other consoles, so the fanboys are seperated as well.
Out of all the bashings I saw, I never saw one hermit bashing sheeps. Maybe because they recognized that their console is doing something different, or they share very similar demographies.hiphops_savior
Sheep and hermits have similar demoraphies? I would have said the 360 and PC have the most similar.. which is the problem between the 2.

[QUOTE="BigDaddyPOLO"]Hermits are more like elitist lemmings. I would say both are very similar.jangojay
What exactly makes hermits elitist? I see people say that all the time but I would like to know.
Hard to put a finger on. But I have a few ideas.
More than any other group, Hermits have some pretty solid facts at their finger tips that shut down most of the arguments that plague System Wars. For example, if someone tries to bring system libraries into the mix, AAAE exclusives are a very simple argument for the PC that shuts down most legitimate debate. Similarly, there are some pretty well published sources that prove PC gaming is the world's single largest form of gaming.
On the other hand, Hermits themselves OFTEN know more about the market, hardware and software than console only fans.
Now, on the face of it, this is a pretty radical and elitist thing to say. But when you consider it, there are logical reasons to argue this. PC gaming is of course a more complex and (usually) more expensive endeavour than console gaming. What that means for most people is that they need more knowledge in order to participate in it.
While this isn't an absolute rule, as there are Hermits who are extremely ignorant and console only players who are extremely wise, it's a general one. Picking up a 360 from EB simply doesn't require the same amount of knowledge as putting together a PC does.
They've also often been playing longer (it takes time to acquire both the knowledge to build a PC and the funds to buy one, but again a general rule). This means they have a bit more context and cogniscence of where things are moving.
Take the Fallout debate for example. Many (not all) people on the pro-Fallout 3 side have not actually played the old Fallouts, and are essentially arguing with people who have. In any respectable academic circle, this debate would be laughed at as ridiculously one sided, but on System Wars its warped into an almost Marxist feud of PCs vs. consoles.
So what does this leave you with? A group who seemingly use a large bank of knowledge in a way that to others, must seem both arrogant and (sometimes) over-cerebral. That's my guess as to why so many Hermits must seem elitist.
And some of them are jerks of course.

That is what it boils down to. And putting together a PC is about as complex as putting together some lego's. The only time consuming part of it is researching the best parts for the money.
That is a way over blow explanation for something that boils down to someone being a prick.

Ever heard of the silent majority? In a lot of things, not just games, those that are loud often get noticed, but that does not mean they speak for the majority.
Live and learn I guess.
It is hard to believe you are so taken away with that kind of rhetoric on a gaming board.
Edit: especially since as an SW poster you should know how dedicated a troll can become. Maintaining several persona's and joining threads they create to agree with themselves. I mean, get a clue.

I'd say that's being a bit too paranoid. But as for the silent majority that may be true, but don't think for a minute that they don't complain or think ill of it. Even in playing WoW I know a guy who logs on for 2 hours every couple of days.. he doesn't post on the forum nor is update with anything, but inspite of that he realises and notices everytime blizzard changes something that doesn't work out too well. That being said the whole point of me saying that is the even though these people are being silent, it doesn't mean that they approve or like of changes being made.

It really is not paranoid. It happens all the time in SW. I have even called out trolls recently and they have said, in their very own thread, right there for everyone to read, "Ya I know, its sad isnt it" and people keep taking their bait. People who were in the one of his threads the day before when he got busted just jumped at the bait again.
You have even said something to the effect of that you are 19 and gaming may be starting to wear a little thin. Well, I doubt you will get totally bored of gaming, but making crazy statements, and going over board with doomsday talk about gaming is not something you will care about in five more years, I would wager.
Look SW can be fun. So can WoW. But the WoW community is the most toxic in gaming, and gaming boards are filled with pure and utter trash.
I mean I think WoW casualized MMO's, but not all for the bad. If you recall the fluff and needles complexity of EQ you know what I mean But that is as far as it goes. So, I feel doomed to see WoW clones for the next five years. But its still just a game. I don't go cry on the WoW forums about the death of the game. And I dont take it home with me.
Have fun in SW, but do not make the mistake of taking any of it serious.
Games would have changed and evolved no matter what. And a lot of hermits would have cryed no matter what. But most just roll with the punches and continue to enjoy games for what they are, games.
Pick any gaming board and you will find more then a fair share of total nonesense on it.

Well, I doubt you will get totally bored of gaming, but making crazy statements, and going over board with doomsday talk about gaming is not something you will care about in five more years, I would wager.
Look SW can be fun. So can WoW. But the WoW community is the most toxic gaming, and gaming boards are filled with pure and utter trash.
I mean I think WoW casualized MMO's, but all for the bad.
Pick any gaming board and you will find more then a fair share of total nonesense on it.
blizzard has become a large company that only cares about $$$$call me a troll I speak only truth. I have never ever called you any type of name ever!!! who are you to call me troll!!!!
Can ask you a question how would you like it if people start saying concoles are going to die. You wouldn't like it would you!!!
truth speak for it self buddy
All this hermit talk is like saying because you mostly hear vile language over xbox live, that all xbox live gamers are vile human beings. Even a lot that do not understand how to restrain themselves yet (they are young) don't take it away with them when they are not on xbox live.
But that very, very loud majority, or the most noticeable.
I can show tons of lies over net about pc gaming.

Yea the WOW thing was an example and Yes I am 19 and tiring of gaming. I said I only enjoy TWO genres right now. Two out of the entire lot. All I play at the moment is RTS and MMOS. Nothing else. Everything else I just lose interest in too quickly.. I guess this is why teh wii is good, it's got games that I would actually play for more than two weeks, other than there are very few other games I'd play extensively. Only ones this year I know I'll play for more than a month that aren't a RTS or a MMO is ninja gaiden, GTA and MGS. Also you are proving my point with the highlighted. Because people don't say they like things doesn't mean they don't.
