Are Ninja Theory some of the worst developers around?

I actually like them and glade they have a bigger budget to work with.. But lets pray that MS keep their promise with 100% creative freedom!

Anyway no, they are a great developer. If they can make a masterpiece like Hellblade with a small team and average budget, I can't wait to see what they make with MS support.

I liked Hellblade... I knew what it was about before playing so that may have helped. No, it wasn't long, but it also wasn't $60.

Their games are short and sometimes a bit meh but they are far from the worst devs around. They make okay to good games IMO. The only shitty game they’ve made so far is DMC.

Hellblade was alright, DMC was trash. But no, not one of the worst.

DMC was ok in my opinion not as good as the others in the series but certainly not terrible. I enjoyed hellblade and enslaved was one of my hidden gems last generation. I think if MS allow them creative freedom they can produce some very good titles.

I liked DMC, but Hellblade was a case of people wanting gaming to be important, forgetting the whole "game" thing.

I haven't played their latest but I enjoyed Heavenly Sword.

Microsoft was smart to snatch them up and I wish their studio the best.

I agree, since last E3 they became one of the worst developers ever. All their games became just horrible.

They are a good team. Their games tend to be short and the stories can be hit or miss, but they look good and play well. Even DMC was alright in those areas. Definitely not the worst developer out there.

The only thing i hate about their game is the character model. Other than that they make some pretty solid games.

You want worst "game" developers? Add Quantic dream to your list.

I like them, and they have a chance to potentially be Microsoft's best studio if things don't go south.

@creepywelps: DMC was far from trash, you'd know that had you actually played it. The combat was fun, the level design was great, the story was good, the art was amazing, what was there not to like? Oh yeah the internet nerd rage over the fact that Dante didn't look exactly like Dante from the other games.

Lol, no, dude. They're really talented devs that have the potential to become better and better over time. MS was smart to buy them (hopefully MS doesn't destroy them). I can agree some of their games are indeed short, but they are also really good, even profound at times. Enslaved is one of my favorite gaming experiences from last gen. And now they're working in VR (unfortunately not with PSVR at this time), so that's exciting. This thread is a wee bit salty, methinks.

If you look back at the original post and look back to here, you'll know who the troll is. This thread is not about Ninja Theory being a bad developer, this thread is because it's a good thing Microsoft bought them, they won't be needed on the PS4 or Switch.

I'm just wondering if cows were eager to hand Ninja Theory over to Microsoft this way prior to them announcing the purchase.

The same lems praising Ninja Theory acquisition are the same clowns that were bashing them when Hellblade wasn't on their platform, and also the same clowns that bashed Heavenly Sword, one of their better games. Lems claim to hate "movie games" and "weaboo" games but only when they aren't on Xbox. Suddenly Hellblade is a great game and Nier Automata is a masterpiece to these clowns even though they spent a whole year bashing these games.

I liked Hellblade, not as much as some people did but I still thought it was good, some sections of that game are amazing and among my favorite moments in gaming, especially the sensory stuff.

I'm one of the two rumored people who really enjoyed DMC.
