Nah, they're one of the best.
Why? Because art.
I don't think people can look past their noses and see games as more than games for the most part. They play Hellblade, and think "Oh it doesn't have enough gameplay for me" without appreciating the dozens of different and unique components that went into developing the game. In fact, they might be so anti-intellectual and anti-culture they are actually repulsed by the thought of appreciating a game as a piece of art; they'll have this almost knee-jerk reaction to not want to feel like, idunno, a hipster or something and be like "Ewww games as art? Lame", and that's a shame.
In short, these critics prevent themselves the wonderful enjoyment of appreciation, culture, and art. I get it, we all love blasting shit to smithereens or hacking limbs off people and doing it all mindlessly, but sometimes a little art and a little culture is fun, too, and we don't get enough of that. In games or life.
And these same people will happily wash dishes in Detroit: Become Human, though...fools! Peasants! Simpletons!
:P

Since when did Hellblade become a Masterpiece ?
Im confused ... People mistake this game with The Witcher 3 or what ?
I've said it before, but there is more to a game than gameplay. Ironic, I know, but Hellblade is a masterpiece for a variety of reasons, most notably: it's use of various technologies; how they incorporated these technologies into the game; how it dealt with mental illness; it's audio; the writing, story, voiceacting; and much more.
But as if Hellblade was not enough, Ninja Theory also made:
Heavenly Sword, which was pretty amazing
DmC (reboot), which was loads of fun.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West that is based on the novel Journey to the West, and written and co-developed by Alex Garland (who directed the amazing Ex Machina and Annihilation, and was involved in other gems like 28 Days Later and Sunshine). The game is a load of fun.
