I don't think I've heard one person on this board mention Deus Ex 3. There seems to be no hype for this game whatsoever. Did the series really die after Deus Ex 2? Cause I remember people being excited for Deus Ex 2 the moment it was announced. But Deus Ex 3........nothing. Not even the PC crowd seem bothered, which worries me alot.

The original Deus Ex is still my favourite game of all time. I still consider it to be superior to many of todays games, and I'm not giving it the benefit of the doubt because its nearly a decade old. I reckon few games can match Deus Ex's approach to story or its level design. If anyone enjoys games like Bioshock or Fallout 3, why not take time out of the games your playing at the moment, boot up the ol Personal computor and give Deus Ex a go (its free on Gametap me thinks).

Hopefully at least one other person will agree with me on this. If not.....then god help us all.

I'm extremely wary. I think the first is the best game of all time, but 2 was just godawful. I'm not sure that the third is going to live up to the first.

Last I saw was concept art. I don't get pumped for what an artist draws, but how the game starts showing up instead. Until then, I won't be hyped up about it.

They still havent confirmed the platforms (considering the game was announced in late 07, thats worrying) but its pretty much confirmed to be on the PC and most likely other systems. Most people blame Deus Ex 2's shortcomings on the fact it was developed for both PC and consoles. But thats bull to me, cause the original Deus Ex was fine on the PS2. I wouldn't mind playing Deus Ex 3 on a console, in fact I'd prefer it considering I have a decent sized TV.

Deus Ex is easily my favorite game ever made.

After Invisible War, I'll wait and see before caring, though.

Invisible War wasn't bad per se, but just a poor sequel to the greatest game ever made.

The bastardization of deus EX 2 for just to appease console gamers is probably what started this whole dumbing down thing to the extent it is today

Its a great game but still significantly inferior to the original. Still worth a look after you beat the original. And nice one on giving the original a try, most people just look at the graphics and tune out immediately.

So why aren't you hyped for Deus Ex 3? It didn't make your top 10 most anticipated for 2010 in the other thread. So what gives? Did Deus Ex 2 really leave that bad an impression?

whenever they talk about the game, the developers simply sound like they never actually played Deus Ex title. They keep making it sound like a generic shooter.

All we know at this point is its under development at a studio that has produced exactly zero games and that it'll probably be similar to BioShock (which is a decidedly bad thing). Not exactly information that has one rushing out to pre-order.

None that I'm aware of. There is a high definition texture patch if the graphics really bother you. I personally find the game fine, even better, with the graphics the way they are. Make sure to crank up the volume on your speakers before you play also, few soundtracks compare to Deus Ex's.

Not even a little bit.

Deus Ex was one of the greatest games of all time, no doubt in my mind about it, but although Deus Ex: Invisible War wasn't a "bad" game, it wasn't very good either, and it was just an extreme disappointment compared to the best FPS ever. And Deus Ex 3 is being made by a development studio which has never made a game before, and neither Harvey Smith or Warren Specter is working on the game, so none of the talent which made the original game amazing is going to be a part of Deus Ex 3.

From what I've acknowledged and read about the third one, I can't say I'm excited. I feel like this is going to just be another game that will significantly pale in comparison to the original masterpiece, and of course Warren Spector isn't taking part in development. I have no reason to be the least bit excited, and it upsets me becasue the original is easily one of the greatest games ever made.

Nope and I dont want to. I find it odd that alot of people can't comprehend that people enjoy Bioshock more than Systemshock. I probably wouldn't care for the sequal anyway since it has been spoiled here tons of times and I've played Bioshock and Dead Space.

But BioShock and Dead Space aren't even close to the amount of horror or quality that System Shock 2 gives. What I personally can't comprehend is why BioShock received such unanimous praise when its gameplay is basically a carbon copy of System Shock 2: The game that was released almost ten years before BioShock.

Great narrative and presentation, sure. But it's not a great GAME.

RAGE!!!!!!!!! I think KOTOR has a Deus Ex easter egg then, but I can't remember the character that does the same thing and the vid. It was in a cantina though :(

More excited for Thief 4 simply because 3 was (in my opinion) great and Deus Ex 2 was bad. Keeping my eye on it though but not expecting anything like the first from 3.

I do not feel like playing a sequel to a game I did not care for in the first place. I played SS and didn't enjoy it. It would not make sense for me to pay money for the sequel just to that X game is better than Y. I am looking forward to buying Deus Ex on steam later down the line. I never said Bioshock is better, I said I enjoyed it more than Systemshock.

Meh, I've heard where they are taking 3 and I can't get excited. One is one of my favorite games of all time and 2 really wasn't that bad as people made it seem but it didn't compare to the first.

Personally I want a proper sequel than a prequel.

2 was that bad. They took most of what made the first good and dumbed it down. I mean there was even 1 type of ammo, just so the Xbox crowd didn't have to manage.

Although I havent played either of them ( I will soon) the sequel does not seem that bad, especially with a metascore of 80.

[QUOTE="SparkyProtocol"][] I do not feel like playing a sequel to a game I did not care for in the first place. I played SS and didn't enjoy it. It would not make sense for me to pay money for the sequel just to that X game is better than Y. I am looking forward to buying Deus Ex on steam later down the line. I never said Bioshock is better, I said I enjoyed it more than Systemshock.

System Shock 1 and 2 are worlds appart, they may as well not even be sequals.

Ok I will. I bet that you are overreacting. "Just so the Xbox crowd didn't have to manage" What a cute steriotype. I don't know one console gamer who is like you say. ( half of them game on both Console and PC. )SparkyProtocol

I should introduce you to some of my friends. You might just go anti console after that experience. Don't forget, things become stereotypes from truth. Also I am so harsh on Deus Ex 2 because Deus Ex is on my top 10 games of all time so when they dumbed down a game I loved I took it kind of personal.

You shouldn't have idiots as friends then. They're all over Steam, Live, PSN, any online service.

Good for SS2. Maybe if the "fanboys"(not calling every SS2 fan a fanboy) weren't so smug undermining Bioshock and spoiling the entire game then I would give it a try.

SS2 is not even an online game. Why on earth would you hold it accountable for a few fanboys?
