Are reviewers still afraid of bombing big games? (SFV)

You know, some reviewers will probably not give this a good review because there is no story, but Smash 4 focused insanely on multiplayer as well as SFV. This is just one of those games that are played at great events like EVO, which I wish Smash 4 could be used there more.

Even I liked Berserk and I tend to shovel 90% jrpgs straight of my gaming list.

It's a double standard. Drive Club, MCC and KI got judged for being incomplete straight off the bat. SFV is worse than KI because they charge full price while delivering only bare bones content and reviewers haven't got the balls to call out the developer on their behaviour.

KI got a 7 and the minus under 'The Bad' was: 'Barebones online and offline modes' and that was a free game. I bet SFV gets a 9 here.

Not if it's on X1, SFV on X1 would have been scored a 3/10 a week ago.... Bank. :P

Puts on Conspiracy hat/, its clear that capcom and Sony spent some good Ad money especially here at gamespot so its not beyond the relm of possibilty, they wouldn't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

If SFV scores a 8/9 on here, this will prove that this website is a joke

Stuff like this is why I want more than one review on any given game on my site, getting an opinion from more than one angle only benefits the consumer.

This has nothing to do with Sony you clown, it was Capcom's decision to do it this way.

I'd partially blame sony for this, you would think they would have someone at least have a look at the final product that they piled so much money into.

Even if this isnt sonys fault people will still see as PS4 and not capcom

The main reason im getting more serious with metacritic average scores , both critics and users even , is the fact that the average score the X game gets is an average of many reviews and not just one.

Personally i dont think reviewers afraid of anything , weve seen again and again that some of them giving nasty scores to games.

As of SF5 at its current state content and all ... its a MAX 7/10. That can easily change to AAA when all modes and all the things developers promised will be in game.

Now there are people like me which they dont care about any modes and this and that , they jumping at rank matches at once , therefore i dont mind having less modes and options. It doesnt affect me by any means therefore game for my taste can easily be an 8/9 out of 10.

But if we want to be fair , well .... SF5 is 6/7 out of 10 score wise as of now.

why would people see it as that?

It's a really tough one to review. The gameplay is amazing, we all know the game is going to come good and all the server issues will eventually be resolved. But that doesn't excuse the current state it's in, with online not working and then nothing to do offline to top it off.

The problem is with ppl taking "scores" which are pretty subjective seriously, READ THE DAMN REVIEW !

Overall, scores tend to lean on high profile games like this one...but as i said ...one should read the reviews.

For the uneducated gamer publishers and developers mean shit to most so the way they'll see it is a PS4 game and Sony creates the PS4. It'll be guilty by association

Uneducated gamers aren't that stupid, the big "CAPCOM" logo on the box and main menu's will clue them in

The thing is SFV is doing what it promised to do flawlessly.

FFXIII was amazing.

We'll see...I mean what's the point of even doing a review in progress?...if the game launch with unplayable then it should be reviewed as such...NOT wait till later till its a bit better. This just gives publisher reason to release more unfinish games..cause they know reviewers will give them good scores for it...no matter how unfinish...cause of later down the line it will be better...*then release it later down the line then*. :P

Why hasn't GS reviewed this game yet? Are they going to wait till Capcom fixes all the bugs? I don't recall them waiting for other games. The review should have been finished by now, it's not like SF5 has any kind of depth to it.

The problem is the gameplay is very strong just lacking in content.
