I would argue no game is.
I would argue no game is.
But have you ever bought a deluxe edition or a complete edition for a game?
I have, on sale (usually far lower than the regular version's price).
@Pedro: "These games are one and done games so their replayability is just not there. Couple this with the games being so heavily story driven with loads of mandatory walking sections which is worse than cutscenes."
Bingo. I'm glad I only pay a max of $30 for games.
Cows trying to justify $70 games. Lol. Yet if Xbox price hiked their games to $70 we’d get ten threads a day on here from the same cows complaining about it.
If Xbox had games people were willing to pay for they would do it too.
No. They are making record profits yet they want to raise the price. On top of that, most of their games are once and done games with little replay value. I generally wait until they are under $20 and a lot I grab for under $15. The games are good games, I just don't see why they are charging $70 when they are making record profits on said games.
Well Sony is charging $110+ here in Australia. I saw Demon Souls on sale yesterday for $99 and yet i bought AC Valhalla for $79 day 1. Sony are a fucking ripoff.
Sony's games have no replayability, you would have to be either a fool or bored out of your brain to replay a Sony game, and with 99% of them not having any decent MP to no MP at all why would you waste your money.

Do you have taxes to pay? How much would Demon's cost?

You don't own a Sony console and you've never played their games. You would get your ass handed to you in Demon's Souls. You play casual Ass Creed to make yourself feel like you're good at video games lol.
Love how you non-gaming Xbots always talk shit about things you can't afford and don't have access to.
@NathanDrakeSwag: Projection much, holy shit.
Don't get angry because i spoke the truth.
Just because you can't finish DS doesn't mean plenty of others can't, but i don't blame you for not being able to beat it as you play all the casual games like CoD, GTA 5, RDR2 and Sony's casual offerings as you suck at video games, its also the reason you game on the PS5.
As for me not being able to afford one, well i just bought a Series X and a 40" 4k tv (not for myself) and yet i can't afford a PS5 lol.
You're so angry that you're just flinging 💩 at the screen in hope that something will stick and it never does flip flopper 🤣🤣🤣

40'' TV?
Perfect size for all those 1080p BC games since you won't notice 4K at that size.
You would get your ass kicked in any of those games too btw. You better stick to playing Lego Forza and Minecraft, scrub.
Nope, not by a long shot. For any games on any platform for that matter.
Most of the PS4 games I've bought have either been Flash Sales, Discounts, or Price drops.

Aren't you gaming on a smaller screen and waiting for another stimulus check to upgrade?
@NathanDrakeSwag: Geez dude you just get dumber with each passing day.
Won't notice 4k on a 40" tv, see like i said you fling 💩 at screen and nothing sticks, thanks for further proving my point.
@robbie23: Currently on "sale" for $99 at Big W as i saw it when passing to get to the Xbox section.

So you know as little about TV's as you do gaming. No surprise there lol.

That's the way to do it ;)
Oh absolutely, I mean who in their right mind would believe that a game (AC Odyssey for example) is worth something in the ball park of 149.99$ CDN (one of the editions was priced as such)?
I have no problem paying any company $70 for a great game... I don't think SONY has released a game that is worth $70 to this point in the gen though. Definitely not Godfall or Destruction All Stars, Spider man was basically a DLC and Demons Souls was a rehash (albeit good from what I understand still not worth $70).
As many others have already said it's a game by game basis, and not just for Sony but everybody. I pre-ordered Disgaea 6 for $100, so I have no problem paying more for games I really like. Paid a ton for the special editions of Ghost of Tsushima and FFVII R, but I wouldn't pay $70 for every game, not even close.
$70 is like a bar tab or B-Dubs for the wife and I. That’s for a couple hours of entertainment. A UFC ppv costs more than that. You gotta put the $70 price tag into perspective. But we know most “gamers” over value their money.
Exactly. When you break a game down over hourly entertainment if you spend 10 hours on an average game then that equals out to around $7 an hour. (most people spend a lot more than that amount on a game they spend $70 on, but this was an example). Still though, what else can people do for $7 or less an hour?

Get a subscription to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and many other subscription services and watch a movie, tv show, you name it.

Good point on those I suppose and I have all of the above. I kind of consider those all clumped into one service though (tv) since there isn't really enough I care to watch on any given one. I am also subscribed to MLB.tv, Stars and HBO. It's mostly for the rest of the family though since I much prefer spending my free time with a game (outside of sports).
That said, I wasn't really talking about monthly subs. You never own those and have to pay indefinitely to keep the services. Then again you don't own bowling or going out to eat or watching a movie at the theater either..
The point is that gaming is actually one of the cheapest hobbies there is if you break it down per hour although there are a few things that compete.
I'd say that they're worth it because it says Sony on the back of the box. It is clear to me that if you disagree with this statement, you're a simple hater.

Can't argue with that.

yeah, it looked like an expansion pack to Origins for me.
At the end I was positively surprised. As I have 90 hours into the game and there is loads of, admittedly, quality content.
However, as much as Ubisoft succeeds in world building and delivering content, they fail in making that content stand out or making your do more meaningful gameplay loops.
A game will have to be polished, and content rich at day one in order to justify 70 dollars or more.

And this is what Ubi is doing with the game

Neither me or my brother had any issues with the Transmog.
But yeah, I did notice how it was free to do in Odyssey, it's free in Fenyx Rising. But in AC: Valhalla you have to meet a specific person to do so and pay a certain sum.
Ubisoft is taking their games in the wrong direction. And I have this nagging feeling that they want to start selling mobile games (with all the microtransactions and such) for AAA prices.
It's like they've found a get rich quick scheme that nobody has come up with before...
I don't really mind as there are still a lot of games I haven't played, so I plan to play it first before the newest ones. By the time I play it, its cost isn't that expensive. Also, I think the price is reasonable enough for those who can afford it.
$70 i'd be ok with. in england deathloop is being advertised for £59.99 which is $82 according to google. returnal is £69.99 ($96.40) on the playstation site. why are we poor english paying through the nose? thanks brexit
Got nothing to do with Brexit. The UK price includes 20% VAT.
And coincidently VAT is an EU consumption tax.

EEC
Well for anyone that knows inflation, $60.00 in 2010 IS the equivalent of $72.37 today. So ya $70.00 seems fair. People always seem to miss this basic economic fact. Odd really.
Gaming is ridiculously cheap these days, in the best possible way.
I grew up paying that same price for games that could be completed in half an hour. Damn, i bought Virtua Racing for Megadrive (a game with one car and one track), Star Wars Arcade for 32x (to play the same two missions over and over), and many more for 100 euros (20 contos back then).
Now i pay 60 or 70 euros for RPGs with 100+ hours of much more polished gameplay, racing games with 500 cars and 100 tracks, great voice acting guaranteed, etc. If you don't want to pay full price, now you find hundreds of great games (indies, AAAs on sale, etc) at any given time for 10 or 15 euros.
People are just too spoiled and love to complain about everything these days. Sometimes i wonder how would these new gamers survive the 80s and 90s!?
