Are the Rare IPs we loved gone?

I am wondering after the lowwer than expected sales of Banjo. No KI and no Kameo 2 are they done with their old IPs? Has MS just turned them into a casual only company? I am truely sad by this whole thing. :cry:

Im raging right now. How long would it take rare to copy Wiisports? No Banjo, Conker, KI, or heck id take PD at this point.

Who cares, all this talk about Rare "Rare this, Rare that" "Mircrosift Killed Rare" Rare isn't even the same company that it once was, I heard that they don't even have the Nintendo era developers they once had, and didn't the old heads of Rare leave to make that Vaporware company, Zoonami? Who cares, I don't get the Rare hype anyway, I played many of their games, owned both Banjo games, a good portion of Donkey Kong games that they developed, and DIddy kong Racing. I don't get the hype. They changed, move on.

no the original founders of Rare Chris and TIm Stamper left in 2007, they said they were doing something else in the industry and then disappeared off the face of the earth.

rare are BS. they put a freakin countdown for the kinect sport game. i think they lsot there minds.

iam happy with the game gear halo and kingdom and he confrence would of made my day if it included some rare games, but when i heard kinect sport and rare i was like u sons of *****. is this what u r working on for the past 2 years

ADventures was a really fun game and a good Zelda replacement. Honestly, I really don't get the hate behind Adventures. I mean what do you honestly expect from a game on which it says "Adventures" and is an action/adventure game with dinosaurs?

Ok ok, in all seriousness, MS let them do their own thang and they didn't really manage to win everyones heart (despite the games being totally original in some way/shape or form). Now MS is controlling them and making them do the Kinect stuff.

Maybe they will release a PD exclusive to Kinect that will actually be good, seeing as they basicaly worked on the thing.

I'm afraid so... :(

I wouldn't say they are gone. Kinect needs games to launch with and Rare is a first party developer for Microsoft. It makes perfect sense for them to be working on what they are working on atm.

And while these Intellectual Properties aren't the ones you want to see, series like Perfect Dark and Conker aren't best for the technology. Using just your body as a controller doesn't lend itself well to shooter or platformers.

Finally, while Kinectimals and Kinect Sports aren't what you were expecting, it doesn't make them bad automatically. I thought Kinectimals looked quite cool with the tech they were demonstrating.

But hey it's cool. People on the Internet can continue to rage how "Rare was always dead since Microsoft bought them" or "Rare was only ever good back in the N64 days." It's tiresome. Keep at it guys.
