I quit caring about RARE when they DESTROYED the Banjo Kazooie series with Nuts and Bolts.
The Xbox 360 - no, THIS generation - is starved for classic platformers and Banjo was perfect to fill that void. Instead they give us a SPIN-OFF after an 8 year wait. N&B wouldn't be so bad if we already have Banjo Threeie, but a spin-off after 8 years? Please!!!!
I spent more time playing Banjo 1 on LIVE than Nuts and Bolts.
Us Rare fans are getting the same treatment Sonic and Sega fans have been getting for a long time. Messing up both Perfect Dark and Banjo in one generation, I mean they are basically tearing up the legacy they once created for themselves as a world leading developer to doing some fitness games for Kinecticut. Once a leader now the follower, they are pretty much lightyears behind BioWare, Retro etc...
I personally thought Nuts & Bolts was the best game in the series... and often find the only criticisms ever put against the "new" Rare is how much they aren't like the "old" Rare. Its a shame MS shut down Kameo 2, but if they are working on new IP, that could possibly be better than Kameo, I'm all for it. I'll always say its better to create new IP with original ideas than just rehash old IP for the fans.
I don't know why people say this. They have made 1 AAA game for the X360, and 4 AA games. How is that dead? Now you can say things aren't looking good but they made some great games this gen.

They had Kameo 2 and Perfect Dark 2 planned but they were canned by MS.... PDz was epic fail why would I want another butchered horrendous sequel ?
i wouldnt clal it butchered and horrendous, its not like they pulled a lost planet 2 and gave us a broken game it was just nothing compared to the old ones

Not to mention the fact they did all of that with none of the original team there to help them. I'd say what they pulled off with PDZ, from what little I played, was pretty good, considering Free Radical's absence. Especially for a successor to the PD franchise.
