Gears 1 and Halo: CE (and Halo 2 as well, for that matter) are very important games for their respective genres and for a lot of other things. Also, they're both awesome games. Fable 1 and 2 were great, and Forza is consistently good, especially for people who like games in the racing sim genre. Gears 2 and 3 were not what Gears 1 was but they were still very good, and Halo is a franchise that's consistently high-quality (or used to be until very recently).

Microsoft's exclusive lineup doesn't have the kind of punch that Sony and Nintendo's lineups pack, but please, give credit where it's due.

The OG xbox had the best exclusives between the 360 and one imo

Xbox brand is mediocre with mediocre games. Only people with ADHD enjoy those games. God forbid they have to watch more than 5 second cutscene because that means the game instantly sucks.

Halo Gears and Forza, for all the flack they get on forums, are good games. To break that down, Halo > Killzone, Forza > GT and Gears gunplay > Uncharteds. Though i'd take Uncharted 2 over any Gears game, and I am willing to bet Naughty Dog will make better games than The Coalition going forward.

And then don't get started with the likes of LittleBigPlanet. What is basically a crap platformer gets rated on MC as one of the best platformers of all time. That's overrated, not Gears where it is arguably one of the best gritty, TPS games you can play with very solid core mechanics. And I'd also say the Gears trilogy is better than the Uncharted trilogy overall since none of the games are as shit as Uncharted 3. Which comes back to the whole inconsistency of Sony's first party again. 1 good game per franchise isn't good enough. Look at Twisted Metal. Beyond TM2 and TM Black it's a complete shitfest, though those two are fantastic games.

So I'd say if anything, MS games are underrated, because apart from Halo Gears and Forza, none of their games get rated above 90 MC. Sony make a game that's slightly different like LBP and the industry brown noses it, disregarding that a platform game has shitty platforming, oh buh lets give it a 95 MC. What a joke. Still not as overrated as Zelda though.

Seeing Crysis on PC Resident Evil 4 on GameCube and the first Gears of War on 360 are the only games that ever made me go wow and was that impressed at the time!

In my opinion, some are overrated (Gears of War, Fable)

and some aren't (Forza, PGR)

Some were great, but lost their way (Halo) (Can still be redeemed with 5, but I have no current hype for it after playing the beta or watching the E3 showing)

And some were underrated (Kameo, BK N&B)

These are of course, just my opinions as stated earlier.

This was a interesting video to be honest. Really shows how different the AI was within the final product vs what was revealed. I'm still a huge fan on TLOU, but holy shit this video makes the AI look stupid lol.

People that don't a certain game series will always say it's overrated. It's great when a game series gathers that much excitement that it's fans back it, mean's they will support the game. Just how someone can say a certain Xbox franchise is overrated, you can find others that say a certain Nintendo or Playstation series is overrated. It works both ways.

Anyways,,, I don't think Xbox Exclusives are overrated because they aren't rated as high as PS Exclusives. I have no idea why Uncharted 1 is 88 on metacritic (UC 2 deserves the praise it gets). So, it seems like Sony has more "overrated" exclusives. That said, I think Playstation has way better library when it comes to exclusives compared to Xbox. But stop your fanboism/trolling.

I feel like a lot of Sony exclusives get way overpraised... MS has some as well, but I think Sony takes the cake in this instance. I feel I have to stipulate that Sony does have some highly-praised games that I feel they deserve.

It's really hard to call them overrated when many jump at the opportunity to bash them. I'd agree that Halo, Gears and Forza are being milked, but that doesn't make them bad IPs. There's just more titles for MS to dig into aside from those three.

Crackdown isn't bad.

The interesting thing about critics, is most are bad at games and there is a huge weight for presentation over gameplay. Games with presentation and poor gameplay usually don't get knocked for the gameplay as often as a game with great gameplay and less than stellar presentation. I like presentation but both uncharted/tlou/gears2/3 tended to be a slog to play through. Skyrim was an excellent presented game but the core fighting mechanics were still pretty basic with a leveling system that could randomly instantly kill you or make progession really hard because you didn't focus enough on combat skills. 9/10 for skyboxes though!

Any way, just because it was critically acclaimed doesnt' necessarily mean its merit was based on being a game or gameplay mechanics. TLOU is definitely in that boat, completely style over substance. Its a 10/10 experience, 5/10 game.

Gears of War 4 almost made me sleep so fucking boring/low standard/barebones graphics too.

Hope they fix it.

Other games like Gears of War 2, Mass Effect, Halo 4, Crackdown, Dead or Alive 4 & 5, Fable, Kameo and some unknown gems like Chromehounds, Naruto: Rise of the Ninja and Rockstar presents Table Tennis. This generation has started out a little slow, but games like Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive & Titanfall were all very good.

Except half the games you listed didn't redefine gaming whatsoever apart from LBP, the others where all just doing things better that games had already done before in the same way that gears did not redefine gaming it took what other games had done before and vastly improved on the formula.

MGS3 was not exclusive and was published by Konami, not SONY and MGS has never been a SONY exclusive franchise.

Heavy rain had already been done before, Indigo prophecy.

Uncharted is literally a Cross between tomb raider and gears.

The rest i just your personal opinion quite frankly and i love the way you pointed out that Ryse flopped yet Praise Killzone (Flop) and you also forgot about the few other flops the PS4 has produced this gen..

Love them or hate them both companies put out good quality exclusives, whether you think they are overrated is neither here nor there, it's down to personal preference what people like and don't like.

On that note though,Not ONE SONY franchise has ever been as big as or will be as big as Halo has been, the only Playstation franchise that comes close in sales is GT in fact it beats Halo but it doesn't have the Comic books,Graphic novels, childrens toys, movies and has not bee immortalized in Lego.

As an overall franchise, just like pokemon, Halo transcends Gaming and moves beyond it.

I am not a huge Halo fan but only an idiot would deny it's popularity and the huge success the franchise has been.
