Let's be real here. Sony and MS see each other as Caine and Abel...................Nintendo is a distant cousin as well as PC.

So, do you...........buy games just because they aren't on "the other" console?

For the record, I bought more Multiplats than exclusives for X1 then PC/PS4 in 2014/2013

I don't know what you're asking, but I just buy games where ever.

I have games that are on Xbox 360 and PS3 that I also have on PC. Even Certain Nintendo only Titles.

Heck if Nintendo released software on PC I'd probably have no reason to go to Xbox or Playstation ever again.

I buy games that I like fanboyism does not even play any role in my decisions of what games or systems I buy. That said I don't like MS for my own reasons lets leave it at that.

I understand what you are saying (would I buy Mass Effect just because it is not on PS3, even if I have no interest in it? Would I buy Street Fighter V just because it is not on Xbox One, even if I have no interest in it? And so on).

That said, no, I don't actually do that.

A corollary is that if a game is exclusive to a platform I like, I may look more into it than I would have otherwise, but that is it.

I see fanboys, say like tormentos, that list ALL the games released in 2014 on PS4; then foxbatalpha does similar for X1. I am asking: does someone REALLY buy games that they have no fuckin interest in playing just because their preferred console has it and their direct enemy does not?

And yes, as long as you have preferences, it is impossible to say that your preferences do not influence your purchases, and since everyone has preferences, no one can actually say they make purchases that are not influenced.

I think I understand your question. And my answer to that would be "Hell no, I buy games that I want." Seriously, if someone is buying games on their system that they have no interest in but are doing it to "help" the console of their choice then that is just wasteful and sad imo.

I only pay for Nintendo games and "acquire" Microsoft, PC and Sony games by other means because I don't want them getting dollars.

No, I buy a game if it looks like something I'd enjoy. That's pretty much the only determining factor.

If anything I've been a victim of people who overhype shit games and I only realize afterward the game was shit but fanboys made it out to sound better than it really was.

I'm not but I know people who do. Like I have a friend who is a massive Sony fanatic, and he is not even interested in racing games, but he bought Motorstorm and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue back in the day, just because he had nothing else to play at that time and because they were Sony exclusives.
