I just buy the games I want to buy.

No, I buy games no matter the system, if its a good game, I want to play it.
But is "good game" decided by you? Or?
A little bit of professional reviewers and gamer reviews, if it is getting good enough reviews on both the paid and user reviews then I will generally give a game the benefit of the doubt and buy it.
Hmm this question seems kind idiotic to me and you aren't even really describing "fanboyism" here.
See I have ALWAYS bought games not on the other system on EVERY platform I have ever owned but the problem with your "fanboysim" notion is the fact that I have owned multiple systems during the same generations and did the same for each. In my eyes the only thing buying exclusive content on the systems I owned meant was I was "supporting original content".
For instance, I owned Dreamcast, PS2 and xbox and I mostly bought exclusive content from each system, for Dreamcast games like Sonic Adventure, Power Stone, Shenmue, Soul Calibur ect, for Playstation 2 I bought games like FFXII, MGS3, and Digital Devil Saga ect, for xbox things like Phantom Dust, Blinx the time Sweeper, Brute force, Tao Fang.
Let me expand on the idea that buying original content on the system/s you own = fanboyism. Looking back on the collection of xbox games I owned MOST of those games we completely original yet ignored by the so called fanboys because of poor critical reviews to hype Halo halo halo, but I on the other hand gave them a shot because someone created an original piece of work and I wanted to decide for myself if it was worth while...
Is it "fanboyism" that I bought original/exclusive games (even critically poor reviewed) for xbox, when I own Dreamcst and PS2 as well and bought original games for those systems I was interested in? FYI: I owned very very few multiplats outside of fighting games
Honestly, I think it takes someone pretty fanboyish to even come to the conclusion that buying/supporting original/exclusive content on the system they own = fanboyism; actually that's kind of silly. If someone isn't interested in supporting original content that their system provides then those original games will fade away and you will no longer have the privilege of having those original/exclusive games to choose from...kind of what like happened with the xbox brand after the fans ignored much of the original content that was offered.
I can't speak for everyone, but for me supporting original content on systems I own has been a must . If you are shortsighted enough to only believe that practice is the result of "fanboyism" then it may be you who has issues with that mentality.
What you should have asked is, "Do you have a bias for exclusive/original content?" My answer would be yes...but that doesn't really have anything to do with "fanboysim".
Now I'm no Xbox fanboy. *cough, cough*
But I do see a clear reason to support this system by purchasing all the games for it.
TL;DR version:
If someone owns multiple systems and they buy mostly exclusive content on each system, what are they a fanboy of...other than supporting original content?

That idea wouldn't change if someone owned 10 systems or 1 so in closing, this idea about buying exclusive/original content on they system you own = fanboyism is shortsighted.
Are you asking if I buy games just because they are exclusive to one console and not on another console that I don't like? No, I don't. Why the hell would I do that? What would be the reason? I buy the games that I think are good. PS and Xbox games are usually not good, so I tend to stay away from those. If they are good, the chances are high that a better version of it is available for PC.
Am I a fanboy? Not sure. I'm a huge fan of Nintendo and their games, but I don't defend them when they do something bad or stupid.
No I only buy games I want to play. If that game happens to only be on one particular system, perhaps I will buy it. I think consoles in general are stupid, but they end up with a good exclusive here and there because that's how the industry works.
If the best games on any given platform aren't exclusive, then that platform isn't really worth owning, imo. I buy multiplats on the PC, and exclusives on the consoles that I own. I buy more exclusives than multiplats in general, though. They tend to be better games for whatever reason.
@-Kaoru-: Ever since the remodel of the site it's just gone so downhill. This forum used to have new posts every few seconds. Now it's every few minutes. That might not sound like much but it really shows what's happened.
Yes, it does. I came back here and helf my stuff was gone...whats the point of having a user if they mess around with it. A few minutes is not so bad I guess. It might get better though.
Outside of SW, platform fanboyism has no affect on my life. I'm a fanboy of plenty of games, but not the platforms that host them.
When a new multiplat comes out I just buy the best version I can. Simple as that.
Edit: Hmmm, maybe I'm misunderstanding the topic. If you're asking if we buy games just because they're exclusive then lol **** no man. I only buy games that interest me.
I tend to buy games that seems interresting, then I decide what platform I find them fitting most (have a very distinct comfort zone with games, such as fps on pc, and platformers on consoles, if I can get away with it).
But I NEVER buy a game I am not interrested in, and certainly not because it is an exclusive.
I bought Gears of War because it's a damn good game.
I bought Soul Sacrifice because it's a damn good game.
I bought Civilization V because it's a damn good game.
I bought The Last of Us because it is a Sony exclusive and think the game is just 'ok'
@-Kaoru-: I'm hoping it does. Oh and while we're at it, how about making user reviews easy to get to like they used to be They used to be linked right in with the official review. Now you have to actively hunt for them, making them almost moot.
