GTA 6 is scheduled to come out this year. There is massive anticipation for this game, after all, the last one was first released in 2013. Crazy how they milked that game lol. For me, nothing beats playing GTA 3 for the very first time. It was like you were playing something out of this world lol. But Vice City took it a bit further and gave us the colorful characters, world, and music. Are you a fan of GTA, SW? Which one is your favorite?

Not anymore. Well, wasn't exactly a fan before, but liked it. Don't anymore. Think it's such idiotic game design, and of all places they pick fucking America, which has the ugliest city design of any developed country in the world.

No. Never was a big fan. But I liked Vice Coty because my brother had a copy. What a great game! Don’t like the franchise at all, however.

My favorite is GTA 3 aka the granddaddy of open world games. Presented a lot of novel ideas for a game in general for its time. Is extremely fun as a sandbox.

Only enjoyed three games which were:

- Vice City

- GTAIV

- GTAV

Am really looking forward to GTAVI so I guess you could say am a fan currently. Not sure which is my favourite as it’s a toss up between Vice City and GTAV.

I used to be a fan. I don't play games like that anymore. I liked GTA 4 the most. The thing that happened near the ending knocked my socks off. I've never had a game have such a pull on my heart.

No, I think the series sucks. I've played 3, 4 Vice City and San Adreas, and only ever finished 4 and that was because I was an achievement who're back in the day and did it for the achievements, but even then I never took the time to do them all.

Most overrated series on the planet, by FAR.

I've never been a big GTA fan, more of a Saint's Row guy, but I do respect the ambition of these games.

I like Vice City, but overall the series is fairly overrated with a terrible, greedy shit company at the helm.

I thought IV and V were mediocre. My favourite was GTA III. I liked the gangs involved and antagonists. Flying the Dodo was fun and where it could take you like Donald Loves penthouse.

Still a fan, a sucker for punishment.

Gta2: i love the "5 minutes into the future" theme it has going on. Very cool car design, very fun missions. Round up people with a bus and drive them to a rival gang's restaurant after you've turned them into hot dogs.

Drive miniature cars under vehicles and blow them up.

Or my favourite mission ever: steal a fire truck, mount a flamthrower on the top and burn down an entire village.

Chinatown wars: I've tried playing this one multiple times on different systems like Android or PSP. But my favourite system to play it on is the DS because the minigames were specifically designed for touch.

Vice City: eventhough every time I replay it the world seems a little smaller (compared to GTA VI) and the missions seem a little smaller... I still dig this game so much. The vibe, the soundtrack, the neon strip.

These are my top favourite games in my favourite franchise ever. I've been playing since the first game came out. I saw talent like Dan Houser and Lazlow come on board. And I wanna give a shout out to GTA IV: that game's world is still leagues beyond what we get today and the Eurphoria engine is a dream.

This is arguably the best GTA game after Vice City.

Vice City, followed closely by San Andreas, I wouldn't call myself a fan dropped 5, can't pinpoint exactly why, but i guess i liked more the satiric tone of the ps2 era entries.

Not at all, however always found myself respecting the series and the sheer attention to detail each entry offers. I'm no means an open world game enjoyer, it's very rare I look at a massive openworld and find that enjoyable, if anything it tires me before anything has begun. Open world design commonly only ever benefits immersion so that doesn't exactly catch my fancy.

Grand Theft Auto much like Red Dead Redemption always took me as series known for being jack-of-all-trades but master of 'well one'. The A.I. for the games are not good when it falls down to combat encounters, the driving in both games is pretty awful. However reason GTA has its fans is because you can just do whatever you want and explore whatever you like, the volume of content on display in Grand Theft Auto is second to none.

Doesn't have the gameplay dense hooks that get someone like me excited, but I can understand who its for and that it caters to a wide sum of players.

I'm not sure modern Rockstar is up to that task though, they seem stagnant and lazy. Cashing in on whatever cheap re-release they can cough up next regardless of quality.

I hope for fans waiting over a decade with its sequel to get a game worthy of it legacy. I'm just unsure if modern Rockstar have the chops for it anymore.

Wouldnt describe myself as a fan, more of an "enjoyer"

Favorite one was Vice City. No other managed to capture the immersion of that one. Its 80's setting was what made me love 80's music. The vibes man, the vibes...

I used to be a huge GTA fan, and probably enjoyed GTA IV the most due to story and characters.

When they started to focus online is where they lost me, I just never got into it due to the online requirements.

I'm not really a fan of the series, but I have found some of them to be fun. I think GTAV is my favorite one because the controls feel good and the game feels very tight and not full of jank like earlier ones. The story and characters are great and it's still enjoyable to replay the campaign. I played through it again last year and had a good time.

San Andreas is my favorite. I like 4 + episodes aswell. 5 i had some fun playing online but have almost no desire to return to the campaign. 6 I'll try when it's dirt cheap or on GP.

Vice city would be nice if it controlled like SA but it doesn't - so it sucks.

The most cohesive gta built around the best concepts that brought wonderful gameplay to the mix was undoubtedly Chinatown Wars.

The most fun 3d gta was always vice city for me, but it's been 15 years since I've played it so it's probably not great anymore.

I personally am not a fan of the GTA series. I have played GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. Kinda seems like I do enjoy the series with how many I've played, but I mostly just played around the open world with cheat codes. Vice City is perhaps the most nostalgic for me, and GTA V being the one I disliked the most. None of the characters were likable to me in GTA V.

PS2 days were some of the best days for me, personally. Vice City just has this vibe that no other entry has had since.

Yea, I made the mistake of playing it again with the remaster and it ruined the nostalgia for me.

It was top tier at the time because no other game came close to what they were doing. Now, it feels rather basic. Music and setting still top notch though

IMO, all the GTA games before IV are only fun for driving around/messing around and listening to the radio stations.

IV is the first one I actually got into. Great game but it still had the annoying save system of the older games where you'd have to redo a bunch of stuff if you died/failed during a mission.

so, V is my favourite. Enjoyed the story/characters and missions (that actually have checkpoints) and the world is still great and fun to mess around in.

Not really. I enjoyed 3 and Chinatown wars. 3 was a big deal at the time and CW was my first 2D GTA (I was aware of the others, just didn't play them). I got fairly far into 4 also.

But bounced right off 5. I got as far as the first heist in the SP campaign and just never picked it up afterwards.

I have a lot of respect for them from a state of the art standpoint. R* in general are great in that department. I mean GTA 5 runs on a PS3 and 360. Think about that....just how amazing is that? RDR2 is the best looking and most technically advanced game on the PS4 and X1. I'm interested to see how much R* can squeeze out of the PS5 and XSX....and even XSS :P.

But will I play it? Unlikely.

Yes. Story wise I would say San Andreas was the best. With GTA 5 coming close second. I thought Rockstar did an amazing job with 5 recreating Southern California with amazing attention to detail. If you have been to LA you would know. Finished all of them from San Andreas to 5. Although San Andreas was with family with different family members playing different missions. I thought 4 was the weakest (having not completing GTA 3 or Vice City) although I thought the expansion were pretty good especially BoGT. Anyways thought about going back and playing Vice City haven’t played it since 2003 on the PC I thought it captured the 80s vibe really well with the music and the environment. Is it worth playing the OG Vice City with mods (some of which I saw were pretty good) or the remaster? The remasters got pretty bad reviews universally. So, don’t know how much of it is worth it.

...Speaking of GTA and Dreamcast, some programmers recently ported over GTA3 to the Dreamcast:

GTA3 was originally planned to be a Dreamcast game before it was cancelled and moved over to the PS2... And now it's finally on the Dreamcast 24 years later.

If GTA3 did release for the Dreamcast instead of the PS2... Could it have saved the Dreamcast?

Yeah, the whole GTA series is awesome, and I am really excited to play GTA6. GTA5 is my favorite game with San Andreas being second. What I particularly like about GTA (and Red Dead for that matter) is Rockstar's meticulosity. Love or hate their games, but their attention to detail is astounding.

I really enjoy the GTA series. GTA 3 kind of opened my eyes to how games could look visually in a open world. Vice City was amazing; probably my favorite. San Andreas was great as well. I enjoyed the darker tone of IV and V was fun to play and explore

There was a certain magic to the original GTA 3 that made the third-person iteration of the series a lot of fun. I don't remember much about it, but I remember it being a lot of fun and maybe one of the first open-world games I played and being super impressed by it.

San Andreas improved upon this by making a really cool character and setting--gangster rap culture--and giving it a good story and world.

Vice City was good, but I didn't like the story or the setting. Almost felt like a standalone expansion than a legit game.

GTA 4 is arguably the best, but it was riddled with technical issues.

GTA 5 has got to be one of the most overrated games in history, and a hate how popular it is as it just slow-bleeds people of their money. It wasn't so much that it was bad, it's just like...why are you guys still playing this? Eh, to each their own, though, I won't be too critical of it.

I always love messing around in the series but that's the problem for me. I've never ever came close to completing the campaign in a GTA. I just get sidetracked will all kinds of stuff to do in the open world.

Still, I have fun with'em and looking forward to 6. ;)

Vice City V-Rock, Wave 103, Flash FM, VCFL, and Emotion 98.3 are still some of the best best radios to date
