Are you a pure Sony (PS3), Nintendo (Wii/Wii U), or Microsoft (X-Box) fan?

Nope, I've liked them all. I might be a little more Sony and PC oriented (since I enjoyed PC games since I was a kid and got both the PS2 and PS3), but I'm pretty much manticore right now, and since my first system was an N64 and I loved the NES at a buddy's house, I do have a soft spot for Nintendo.

This probably gives me a bias against Microsoft since I don't have a particular soft spot for them, but I enjoy Halo and Gears even if not a lot of their other games catch my interest.

Purely? No I could easily just buy a 360 or something else if I felt like the PS3 wasnt doing enough. BUT the PS3 is doing too much for me right now. Yes I support and prefer SONY/Playstation over others, but if I was getting screwed by SONY then I'll just move on.

Well, as in purity I meant do you have one main preference? And do you only own one console system? Like for me, I don't see the point in buying a PS3 and a Wii. Ya know?

NO.

I follow overall value in a system and where the games are. For this generation, I did my research and PS3 just happens to fullfill in both criterias.

Last gen, XBOX was my prime console because it had the games that interested me, and the HDD made difference for convenience. No memory cards.

GC was my secondary and PS2 was my third.

I only play on devices which intrest me. Since the dawn of time, I've played on Nintendo consoles and PC. Both fulfil my needs.
But I still own Most other consoles since the 5th gen. (Don't own origanal XBOX).

Well its not like its a poll, so you can just say it like I did.

Personally, I think in percentages, I prefer

35% Sony (based on their games, all my buddies and the time I've spent on PS3 this generation), 30% PC, 15% Nintendo (probably would be worse, but I enjoyed some of the exclusives and loved my N64 in the day), and 20% Xbox 360, maybe.

I am a bit biased towards PC and PS3 I think, but not out of loyalty as much as the time I've spent enjoying their games over others.

I have owned systems from both Nintendo and Microsoft, I've never owned one of Sony's systems so I have nothing good or bad to say about them except from what I observe by playing PS3/PS2's at friends houses or looking at pure hardware specs. Nintendo have a special place in my brain for some reason, they just seem more friendly than MS & Sony, but having said that I still game mostly on my 360/PC.

I've always owned atleast two consoles after the 3rd Gen because the 3rd Gen I only had an NES.

4th Gen (It was SNES and Genesis)

5th Gen (It was PS1 and N64)

6th Gen (It was Dreamcast, PS2, and GCN)

7th Gen (It is Wii and PS3)

But I also had a 360 this gen.

I also game on PC and Handhelds.

I enjoy pretty much everything any console has to offer.

But this gen I was Nintendo and Xbox man, because I couldn't afford a PS3 for the longest time. I also mostly game on PC these days as well, Steam has seen to that.

Overall, I'm a diehard Nintendo fan and a lifelong PC gamer. Those are the two platforms I've gamed on longest, and are my favorite. 360 is a DVD player and for games that don't come out on PC.

Took the words right out of my mouth. That's not a knock on the 360, I think its a great console, but the PS3 is really all I need (so far at least).

I always buy all systems, even Nintendo ones

There is always at least one good game, like Demons Souls on PS3 and Zelda SS on Nintendo

360 is where 99% of my gaming goes though, since it gets 99% of the games i like best

I'm a fan of whichever one provides me with a better experience for that generation, and in this case that's Sony. If in any case Sony decides to stop adding exclusives to the PS3 and focuses on PS Move while Microsoft starts focusing more on the non-kinect gaming experience (like they were at the start of this gen) then I'd get an Xbox 360.

I've been an exclusively Sony gamer for the past 3 generations now. I'm older than most System Warriors (33) and have hobbies outside of gaming (alpine skiing during winter, golf during spring - fall), so I don't put all of my hobby eggs into the gaming basket. I've been console gaming since the mid 80s (2600, NES, Genesis, N64/PS1, PS2, PS3 / Wii, respectively), but won't commit the money to owning every system each gen. Golf, skiing, and the stock market are all too money intensive to throw money at gaming. Frankly, I chose PS3 this gen because of the Sony franchises I've been playing the last 3 generations (GT, MGS, R&C, Twisted Metal, GOW), I wanted a high-def movie player, I'm not into FPS, and I don't play online. Heck, I got my PS3 in February '07 and finally signed up for PSN about 3 months ago. I do a very small amount of PC gaming, but that's pretty much limited to the Civ series.

It's a VERY bad idea to stick to just one platform, especially with the Wii.

PC usually gets a lot of fun indie games and superior multiplats, but it's main weaknesses are the lack of Japanese games, 2d fighting games, and titles developed by Rockstar North since the current generation (Unless you count the godawful GTA4 port done by Rockstar Toronto).

PS3/360 is the popular platform to develop games for, though some games are developed with the PC as the lead platform. Additionally, I don't think it's likely these platforms will have game discounts on the same scale as the Steam Store.

And quite frankly, the only reason to get a Wii is for games developed by Nintendo.

I bought a Wii last Christmas, mostly for the wife, and unplugged it recently due to inactivity. I've probably spent more money on the vampire electricity drain leaving that thing plugged in over the last year than I've spent on software. I just can't use the wii-mote for longer than 30 minutes before it starts driving my wrists crazy. I think I'm getting carpal-tunnel in my right hand from using a mouse so much at work (systems analyst / programmer).

I own a 360, ps3, 3ds, psp. I use my 360 most. My ps3 is mostly for the great exclusives like god of war, kz, uncharted, infamous, etc. 360 for my halo, gears, fable, AW, ninja gaiden fix, as well as multiplats. I lean toward lem, but at the cost of missing games? No way. The playstation brand and games are too good to miss.

Funny, my brother (who is a 30 year old grad student) actually calls me 'Graybush' from time to time. It isn't inaccurate, either, as I started going gray in my teens. Here's to hoping we elder statesmen can bring about some sorely needed decorum to these boards.

I do a very small amount of PC gaming, but that's pretty much limited to the Civ series.

nice to see another grey beard here. I am 39, been gaming along time as well on the master, genesis, Saturn, PS, ps2, Xbox, 360, ps3, a short time with a Wii, and a little PC.
