At one point in 2015 I had Ps4, WiiU, 3DSXL, Ps3, Ps2, Xbox, Xbox 360 , and a Vita
Early 2016, I got tired of having so many consoles I wasnt even using and I was starting to work full time and less time for gaming. So I sold everything and built a 980 Ti i7 6700K gaming desktop computer.
Got a lot of use out of my computer (and still do) , but I really didnt use it much for gaming. I played Danganronpa 1, Nier Automata, Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel , and I think those are the only games I completed. Mainly just played overwatch or watching anime or other random stuff on the internet (also emulated some games from older generations).
Skip ahead to 2018, I'm buying 1 or 2 consoles next week on July 12th. I have some friends now who like to play fighting games and I'm particularly interesting in playing Persona 5 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, among a few other exclusives. And Soul Calibur 6 , Smash Bros Ultimate , Red Dead 2 , Dragon Quest 11 all coming out this fall .
I just got bored with PC games honestly. All the more interesting exclusives for my personal tastes seem to be on consoles . I'll probably only use my PC to game in the future, for when there's some visually spectacular multiplat game that comes out and I play in on PC .
I think if you only own one platform, you will be missing out on something. For example, if you only have Ps4 or Xbox, youre missing out out on the switches portability and nintendos unique games. If you only own a Switch, you dont have access to a huge variety of multiplats or Sony's AAA exclusives.
To get the best gaming experience you probably would own 2 consoles at minimum, and possible 3 if you have a gaming computer .
