Nope, I rely on the game itself to keep me playing and not artificial awards. :P

Nope, I find replaying games or grinding or doing whatever else is required for trophies to be boring, especially when I have a HUGE backlog of games I need to get through.

Yeah, I find aiming for a platinum can get more of my moneys worth out of a game :)

idk.. i dont think so

I'll normally go through my first playthrough of a game without worrying about them, then I'll go for the non frustrating ones to add replayability. then if I'm close to 100%, I may go for it.

They can add a replayability and some are fun to get, I'm more of a hunter though...

No, not really. Although there are always a few select ones that I will always try to go after for the fun of it and also to get more out of the game. I never go nuts and try to get every one, though. No matter how much I love a game. I just play to enjoy the game itself.

depends, i'll go a bit out of my way for an achievement. But I don't try to get a 1000 gamescore on games, usually I stop at 700/1000 after that the really hard achievements come and I don't feel like doing them

Not really. If it's a game I really enjoy, I'll go for all the achievements/trophies tho.

On occasion they do increase the scope of the game. Without looking through achievements I would probably have never found out that the Dark Brotherhood is a viable guild in Oblivion. I would not do as many side quests in Fallout 3 or potentially redo certain aspects of the game to achieve something.

..

On the flip side they can limit a game as well, Mirrors Edge being a perfect example of this. I tried first time playing for the no guns achievement, broke down about half way and had so much more fun with the game as parkour + machine gunning marines is pure awesome in my books.

..

I guess to me, done right they can give me a reason to look at parts of the game that I may have missed otherwise, but they will be no means have me playing a game I dont like, or replaying a game I have played before simply to get the gold or get the 100 points. Done wrong their encouragement of certain play-styles can hinder the experience.

I'll usually go out of my way to get some achievements, and if I really like a game I'll go for a platinum/1000.

No, achievements and trophies are pointless. I play a game to play the game, not try to drop 30 feet without dying(or some other stupid thing)..

this.

not the kind of guy who'd buy games to get access to achiements. and I'll sometimes go out of the way to get them, but it has to be a game I already enjoy.

No, but it's still cool to complete something and see a little notification recognizing what you have done. I don't see why they always have to be considered as either pointless and horrible, or the absolute coolest thing ever. They're a nice little thing to have. I don't think it's a huge issue though either way.

Very rarely do I go for achievements. Usually I play and if I get one cool.
