I've come to a sad realization today as I put my brand new Xbox 360Elite up for sale on my local website. And no, it's nothing against the Xbox (I tradedin my ps3 for it lol), it's just that I didn't find it enjoyable. I played Halo 3 for like 5 hours over a week's time and I just don't have the desire to play it anymore. It was the same thing with my ps3 and Motorstorm, and I also have an uber PC that I built for Crysis, and it will probably end up with the same fate (although I really enjoy the Crysis beta).I find myself having more fun looking at screenshots of upcominggamesand reading the boards than actually playing video games, and now that is even getting boring.
I bought Bioshock and played it for like an hour on PC, but I don't even care if I ever play it again or not. I love Half Life 2, but I haven't even finished Half Life Ep1 despite having it for a year. I played Motorstorm, but I didn't care to finish it. Same with Halo 3, same with Dirt, same with Heavenly Sword, same with Resistance FOM, and same with other games. And it's not like I suck at gaming, I'm pretty good at it. I'm a God in Motorstorm with over 300 races. I played Halo 3 multiplayer once and I had the 2nd most frags. I was always in the top10 on Gran Turismo HD online times, but for some reason I just don't find it fun. The only games that I have truly been addicted to are Counter Strike and MX Unleashed for ps2. If Crysis doesn't excite me, then sadly I won't spend anymore time on gaming.
I guess its becauseI'm getting older (19yrs)and I just don't enjoy video games anymore. And it's sad because I used to love coming home from school/work and just chill on my couch and play a game or two. Its also got me down because ofthe fact that I've spent nearly $3000 on gaming in the last year (ps3, xbox, 32" lcd tv, pc parts, games, etc). Anyone else feel the same way?
