Are you buying Gears of War for PC?

Are you guys buying Gears of War for PC or are you gonna stick with the 360 version for now?

I just read that Epic isn't bringing the extra content to the 360 (yes, I know I read the news very late) but I think it could just be a ploy to get the 360 owners of Gears to buy the PC version. I dunno, maybe, maybe not.

Are any current owners of Gears on 360 getting the PC version? Are non current owners of Gears buying the PC version? Anyone think it's possible Epic will bring the content to the 360 eventually? What do you guys think?

Maybe when its like less than $20 bucks.

A very short singleplayer campaign, and online multiplayer, while seemingly fun, isnt anything special on the PC.

Yeah I'm getting it... since I don't have a 360. :(

MS just lost potential sales though; I was thinking about getting a 360 until I saw Gears and Viva Pinata for the PC.

I have Gears for the 360 and I've played it tons, but I'll still get it for PC for four big reasons:

1) mouse and keyboard

2) superior graphics and especially framerate

3) the 5 extra single-player missions

and most of all:

4) User-created mods

I think that with enough demand, they'll bring the content to the 360, or release it with a Gears platnium edition. I mean, look at Fable, it happened.Legendaryscmt

One of my friend's is a massive Gears fan and is disappointed PC is getting the extra content (his PC can't run it) but Rein has said that "it's not impossible", it's just "unlikely" that the content will get to the 360. And knowing MS/Epic, my guess is that it will come to the 360 eventually but they want people to get the PC version so they're saying it won't.

I dunno, just a theory of course, but I'd wait just in case.

I know that it wont be an Vista exclusive but the thought of actually paying for a matchmaking service and a unified friendslist which should have been originally free (and mind you that alot of PC games have both of these features for free) in the first place is just painful. MS is basically trying to bring what worked for the 360 and trying to intergrate it to their PC games which is just plain wrong.

Before you get me wrong, from my understanding the unified friends list is actually included with the silver membership but yourinteraction with your friends is somewhat limited unless you pay for gold.

No because I didn't like Gears of War on the 360.

The cover system allowed you to quickly take cover if you were severely damaged. Blind firing was very accurate so while recovering, you could easily pull out your shotgun and blindly shoot it into an enemy's face as they try to get to you because you won't get out of your hole. The level design didn't allow for flanking which would counter the previous problem I listed. I can't remember ever seeing an enemy use a grenade. Theron torque bows, although in certain ways can function like a grenade due to the arc of the shot if the shot isn't fully charged, aren't taken advantage of by the enemy.

A special campaign with Cole and Baird would've been very appreciated since they went through places that Marcus nor Dom haven't.

As amazing as gears sounds, it just doesn't sound like smothing i would find fun. So i probably won't be buying it. But mabey after it drops in price.

Nope.... I feel ripped off, the reason being is, I believe that they had the other content done, and just cut it from the game as they were planning this all along. Many people said that they felt certain areas of the game were cut-up, while playing through it, I guess now we know why....

This is a very dirty &underhanded move imo..... just because of this, I probably wont buy Gears of War II, either.

Epic gave you a fully-featured game and the popularity showed that it was beloved. Think of theGeamrs PCas a developers cut and also through a business perspective, I mean who in their right mind would buy a game a year later with the same exact contents you could from the 360? Games like Riddick was ported to the PC and there werent any complaints when we recieved extra content and the same within a way.

From my understanding,Epic stated that Gears PC is using a significantly modified version of the Unreal 3 which means that even if they wanted to, it wouldnt be possible.

You don't need Vista. It's XP compatible.

Hell yes. Razer mouse and keyboard. Creative Labs EAX support (I hope). And as much AA and AF that I can squeeze out of this Radeon X1900 CrossFire setup that I just installed. Wish I was DX10 already but no rush. My current setup still crushes the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

So I'll be enjoying Gears of War, and Unreal Tournament 3, on the PC, for sure.

Yeah, that should be fun. I hope the chainsaws don't "suck" you into them like in the 360 version. It'd be better in MP if they changed that and make chainsaw only maps much more interesting.

One of the reasons why the 360 version of UT3 is taking so long to come out is that they are trying to get mods for it. The thing is that even if they do work it out, it probably wont be the same and I like creating my own maps in games, something once again probably won't happen on the 360. I also want to put my rig to the test running the game at 1920x1200 which my 24 inch widescreen monitor supports and hell I might even hook my PC up to my 56 inch 1080p TV like I have done in the past. That ought to look pretty beast like.smokeydabear076

I'm just a bit disappointed cause I think Epic should bring the extra content for the 360 too. A lot of people who own 360s have bought them because they don't game on the PC, so hopefully Epic bring the content eventually.
