Poll Are you buying, GP "renting" or skipping Starfield? (80 votes)
No more playing games. What's your plan for Starfield? I want to know it, and i want to know it now.

Certainly GP and if I like it I’ll buy it. Seems like the type of game that would be cheaper to buy than pay for gp during the months it would take to play.

That's what i was thinking. Especially on pc, knowing that some mods will take a while to come out, and if you want to try them, its just better to buy the game.
I’m currently a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber and don’t seeing that changing anytime soon with all these great games hitting the service so that is where I’ll be playing Starfield when it launches.
Game Pass initially, though if I like it, I'll buy it on Steam or GoG at some point when it's <$30.
Game Pass is fine as far as vanilla games and trying out stuff I'm curious about, but if Starfield is anything remotely like Skyrim or Oblivion or Fallout NV/4, I'm going to want to modify it and that means having it on Steam.

Yeah, Game Pass has been amazing.
Biggest problem is I don't have time to play it all haha.
@Pedro: All of Todd's games release with a litany of bugs and stability issues that never get addressed with patches. So I'll wait for bug and stability mods as per usual with his games. Shouldn't take long, Bethesda RPG's have the most robust modding community.
Buy yes, but not directly from Microsoft on PC.
Since I'm primarily a PC gamer I'll try it on Game Pass when it comes out. But, when it comes to buying it, I'll get it from Steam. Even though the GP version will probably have a discount.
The reason is simple, the GP version will likely be the same as most of all the other GP games on PC. Meaning it will be encrypted and locked in the XboxGames folder. You can forget backing it up for easier installation later or running mods from Nexus on the GP version or even the purchased version available on the Xbox App.
The Xbox App is pretty terrible for stuff like that. Unless that changes in the future, forget it. Steam only.
renting.
the other world. i started playing it a while ago. fun game. but when it was drop onto gp i hit a game breaken bug that took 2 years to patch... i am finale playing it again. so those type of issue with a game. get a instant gp usage. compare to buying it.
GP renting.
I realized a long, long time ago that Bethesda games just aren't for me.
I bought Morrowind, Oblivion, New Vegas new. Played none of them more than 6 hours. Their style and gameplay experience just doesn't work for me at all.
I'll definitely try it because sci-fi / space themes. I love Elite: Dangerous and was a Kickstarter backer for Star Citizen. It's my favorite type of game (where dystopian futures or mideval pasts are not). So maybe Starfield will get traction with me where their past projects could not.
I'm buying it on Steam even though I have GP because I want to play with more than the "approved" mods.
Game Pass games have terrible community mod support.
Which is why I'm also buying it on Steam and I really don't use Game Pass like that anyway as I personally still like to buy my games on PC.
Shit my poll needed a 4th option for Ghost, and you know what option that is🤡
Are you sure about that?
We expect starfield will feature DRM Denuvo, waiting for official confirmation. https://t.co/K6j8FhuIXupic.twitter.com/IpjT74793Y

Ghost won't be happy about this revelation.
Well, it'll be broken for a while, so I'll wait. When it's fixed, I'll buy it.
Who in the hell rents a game like this.
Buying. Just not at launch; will wait for a few patches and some mods before jumping in.
How is it broken?🤔
It's a BGS game. Birds fly, sun rises, and BGS games launch with a bazillion bugs.
Phil did say it's the most polished Bethesda game ever.
If that's the case, then the X is incredibly underpowered. Fake 12tflops.
@hardwenzen: You must have mixed the part where Todd said they had it running at 60fps on the X but decided to keep lock 30fps to have the best quality.

That makes 0 sense, just have a performance and quality mode and let people choose how they want to play. Sounds like Todd is lying again.
@fedor: Todd dont want you to choose gimmicks. He wants you to enjoy his vision, not some basement dwelling 400 pound PC gamer who paid 7k to get a few extra fps. Todd said them clowns need to go play Diablo and cry more.
Nintendo would cease to exist without 400 pound basement dwellers, you should show some respect.

Mods are a good incentive for buying.

I also wonder if certain mods will be possible on UWP. Like the script extenders, which are pretty essential.

I don't know. I'd play it safe and buy it on Steam if possible.
