Poll Are you buying, GP "renting" or skipping Starfield? (80 votes)
No more playing games. What's your plan for Starfield? I want to know it, and i want to know it now.

Why isn't this game locked at 30 fps on PC is that's what Todd's vision for the game is?
If PC gamers wanna play Starfield in 30fps on PC, they would. That's the beauty of PC, you have options but playing games in 30fps isn't one of them.
Gamepass
Buy it once modders fix it.
How is it broken?🤔
IMO, people exaggerate the bugginess of Bethesda games to comical levels. I see the (not reality based) engine meme reared its head in this thread too. The fact is, Bethesda games do well even without mods, and the showcase deep dive was mighty impressive, I'll sometimes always play Bethesda games in Vanilla mode before I use mods. Starfield was delayed a huge chunk of times with the force of MS's Q/A working on testing the game.
A game of this scope for a brand new IP by Bethesda will have unavoidably have bugs, but it will most likely be less than usual with MS support, so chances are, MS knows this is all or nothing.
@davillain: Yeah I know, I was just trying to debunk the whole "Todd's vision" thing. If his vision was for players to play at 30 fps, because 60 didn't feel right, he would have locked PC also. Basically, consoles are 30 fps because they can't do 60 for some reason. Although it seems odd that Series S has the same framerate as X. Series X could easily run this at 60 by using dynamic resolution, or a drop in resolution. It almost seems like MS doesn't care about series X players much... After this and redfall(which should run at 120 fps on X).
@Bond007uk: That's actually terrible news. I really wish PC had a universal platform like PS5 and Xbox.
I am in the process of making Xbox GP my main hub for PC gaming but hearing stuff like that just means I have to split it up even more...

That's a misquote anyway he stated they have it running at "60fps in places" so not consistently 60 fps and I imagine during heavy combat, lots of particle effects etc. the game drops frames dramatically (on console), so rather than release a game that is 60fps sometimes and drops to like 25fps during those intense moments they instead have it basically at 30fps consistently and then when drops do occur they feel like minor hitches as supposed to if they are trying to run at 60 and the game suddenly bounces down to sub 30 which will feel awful.
I'll probably go with rent until they release a special edition with all DLC, and then I'll buy that when it's like 20 bucks.
Highly interested in Starfield the showcase won me over but like all bethesda products, I will be playing once they released all season pass dlc and with a very discounted price.
How can you be interested in the game, and then wait another 3 years before all the dlc's are out?
Gamepass
Game Pass..

Anyone playing the game on PC Game Pass? I only see Steam folks purchasing so far
Funny thing is, I am supporting Xbox Game Studios with my Game Pass subscription. 😅
After all the 3rd parties and studios that didn’t make Starfield get their cut…
I get it though. Basic economics don’t apply to Xbox as long as y’all save a few dollars.
@ghostofgolden: Yep, I am. They offered a service meant to entice a much larger audience then that that would ever buy those games on an individual basis and I’m paying into it. I’m doing my part of their offer. 🤷♂️

Be upset that your subscription service works for you.😂 Let us start petitioning for a breakdown of every subscription service.😎

according to Xbox, Game Pass is already profitable.. according to Xbox, they are generating double the revenue they were making in the Xbox 360 era.. Xbox even generated more revenue than Nintendo last year..
yet we still need to be concerned.. 🤣🤡
Microsoft/Xbox has been getting $15 a month out of me, consistently, for years.. that's literally me doing my part as a consumer to pay for their software/services and that's on top of the money i spend on other retail games like Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, DLC, and MTX..
again, i think the multi-TRILLION dollar company can figure out the rest.. 🙄
@Antwan3K: @Pedro: I wonder if people waiting for games to go on sale bother Golden Child as much as people subscribing to Game Pass does. 😅
According to Xbox, the system wasn't supposed to run most multiplats poorer than a weaker ps5, and have 30fps titles one after the other🤭
According to Xbox btw tbh actually.

People who wait are only marginally better than folks that buy used. Both groups should be behind bars…

he's just peddling cow talking points these days.. plain and simple.. this 3rd account is just a cow/troll account..
zero credibility.. 🤡

Some of us just prefer buying our games than renting them, even Game Pass is good and all but I don't often use it and I prefer to just buy it so I can play it as long as I can. The poll here suggest people are gonna buy it as well over using Game Pass. Not to mention, people are buying it on Steam mainly to mod Starfield. PC/Game Pass won't even let you mod and that's a deal breaker right their.

It’s just funny to me that the biggest Xbox fans on the board represent the few that aren’t buying the biggest Xbox Game Studios release of 2023. And I’d really like to do a Xbox PC vs Steam breakdown for all the Xbox PC releases so far. PC gamers seem to be going the extra mile to avoid the Xbox PC app/store
it's "funny" that Game Pass subscribers want to use the subscription service they pay for in order to play the games that are available on that service?.. 🤣🤡
Game Pass is an optional service.. if there are people who want to purchase the game at full price, more power to them.. 👍if others want to play the game via Game Pass (a paid service), that's also fine.. where's the issue?..
the straw grasping is really strong with this 3rd account..
For me if I do buy it (it looks like garbage flop like Cyberpunk tbh) it will be GamePass. GP is brilliant.
GP on 4090 PC of course.
I'll be playing it on gamepass bought with my Microsoft rewards points, whilst laughing at people who can't play because of brand loyalty and mugs with gamepass paying full price for the game and saying that they are supporting multi billion dollar Devs. 🤣
You people should be more respectful of our golden saviour. Not only he sacrificed himself to save System Wars but now he know he's going to single handedly push Microsoft to the next trillion. Probably going to buy a bunch of special editions to play on his 37 Series X. Bless him.
Buying the GOTY edition in a couple of years time with all DLC included and no doubt at a reduced price.
ahhh a distinguished Man of patience and virtue. No doubt you'll also enjoy the game more than those who are paying premium for the single player experience right now.

THat's just stupid, not being patient. The game took 8 years to come out, and you dedice to wait another 2-3 years of your life to play it. Ridiculous.

You've been a slave to the corporate model for too long my friend.... Every game company prematurely releases information on a game and then toss out an ungodly long wait to play something that ultimately feels unfinished when it comes out of the oven. When I cook pasta, I don't take the pasta out early and eat crunchy noodles just because I'm hungry. You still wait till it's finished before you eat. For someone to wait for all the DLC and a sale? That's a prime specimen. Just as a reminder.... Proximiry to release date bares no weight in enjoying a single player game. In the case of @last_lap they will be enjoying the most content, refined in the best way for the cheapest price. 🤑

Its a Bethesda title, it will never be officially complete and bug free. An additional 2-3 years after release is nothing but torturing yourself to play a game you're interested in.

I only just played the Fallout 4 GOTY edition last year, so patience is my specialty.

It is possible that a big massive Bethesda game never gets truly patched all the way through, but will no doubt be in a better place than launch, especially if we're talking a game of the year edition with DLC type package. The "torture" bit is what we do to ourselves in the 8 years leading up to it. I like playing games that are finished. I played fallout new Vegas day 1.... Ruined it for me. It's a solid 6/10... Too many game breaking bugs and terrible glitchy quest markers. My God it was a chore to play at launch. Wish I waited. I wonder how the experience was for someone who did wait for the game to be finished? Point is, there's SO much to play and when it comes to single player, for me I'll work towards Starfield. I'm playing metal gear rising Revengence right now which I never would've visited had I been hanging on to day one releases with poor performance. This game is freaking amazing! I also just beat quantum break and a bunch of other games this past yesr. Eventually it'll he Starfield turn... Ya know what's next actually? Cyberpunk. I never touched it.... Waited for them to finish it. This time I won't be the fallout new Vegas guy... 😁

I played New Vegas about a year or so after launch I think. I lost around 20hrs progress because the game would just corrupt your game at the drop of a hat. So had to manually save every hour or so and each time in a new slot, was a pain in the arse. There was other bugs where Quest givers weren't wehere they were supposed to be and all sorts of things, so still a train wreck over a year in.
