Activision does not own Bungie.
Bungie didn't want to be owned anymore and bought there way away from Microsoft, and now Activision is Publishing their games for 10 years....not own.
Activision still pulls in money off of new purchases of whatever Bungie releases... you think that they don't make anything as a publishing partner? They just sit on their hands while Bungie pulls in everything?
If I think an Activision title looks good, I will buy it because that's why I buy games after all: because I think I will enjoy them. I'm not a part of the silly anti-Activision bandwagon movement. I bought GoldenEye used but that's just because I always buy used if I can help it. I would have bought it new if there were no more used copies.
I personally DESPISE Activision, and if I see a game a really like and notice that it says "Activision" I'll literally drop the game on the floor and... urinate on it, defecate on it, spit on it, vomit on it, stomp on it, AND.. burn it.:)

Their quality standard appears to be rather low other than Call of Duty. Most would argue their quality standard is just low, but I think Call of Duty was amazing up until and including Modern Warfare 1, and the following entries weren't that bad. So yes, I will support them if I feel they deserve my money by making quality titles. Right now, that is only Call of Duty.
I assume that people will even buy Activision's games even if the publisher was directly involved, say, in helping terrorist organizations or rogue governments like North Korea?
Activision can be blithering idiots when it comes to public relations over their business decisions (which seems to equate to "No gamer will ever read about our desire to monetise the 5 seconds they spend reading the back of the box!"...or something like that).
I bought Starcraft 2 and Blur (which I eventually got too annoyed at to play) this year. I refuse to buy CoD games since I'm not interested in derivative FPS games; if I do want an FPS, I'll choose one with a decent campaign length and some degree of originality.
It's not like Activision are exploiting African farmers - The men at the top want to make a bigger profit, and really you can't blame them. They just need to stop supping on the Stupid Juice before commenting on their business strategies.

Actually Activision doesn't own Blizzard. Blizzard's Parent company has the majority stake in Activision. Also they don't own Bungie they just have a deal to publish games for Bungie.
