Are you hoping for more JRPG's on Consoles next Gen?

dang so many jrpg haters in this thread what gives? i mean you don't have to play them if you don't want to. i don't go into wrpg threads and spew my personal tastes in there. also, i know people will think i'm crazy, but around next year, expect a whole bunch of jrpgs heading towards the ps3 and even more after that. people keep forgetting that the main reason we haven't seen alot of jrpgs on the ps3 is because it cost alot of money to make a decent looking one as well as the hardware used for it. i have faith in things like this that other people tend to ignore.

Absolutely. JRPG's are my favorite genre of games, and thank god I didn't play to many of them before, so I have a huge backlog of PSP/Ps2 games that I need to beat. I love my PSP, but theres no doubting that my favorite JRPGs ever were made on the Ps2 or 360 (I dont have a Ps3 yet). That epic scope that all JRPGs promise is made possible on consoles.

Sadly I doubt there will be more of them on the new home consoles. Probably the same amount as this gen. This is precisely the reason I will pick up a Vita, because I know that its going to be popular in Japan, which means more JRPGs on it :). Hopefully the tech in that baby can allow for some more open world JRPG's that the PSP couldn't really deliver.

It's a good thing you stopped; it only got worse from there, imo. Though the gummi ship sections in KH2 were pretty fun and better than KH1's version.

As for the topic, I would love to see more JRPGs on the consoles, but I don't think that'll happen due to cost and whatnot. Anyways, I just want Shin Megami Tensei 4, and don't tell me Strange Journey was SMT4. I refuse to acknowlede that game.

It never came out in the US right? I was kind of looking forward to it just because they added a harder difficulty and came with Chain of Memories. I don't remember what else they added.

Meh, no. Last gen JRPGs were the closest thing to shooters this gen. A lot of them and of dubious quality. JRPGs were okay when they boomed in the 5th gen, but then it reached an enough is enough point.

Sure, why not. Although, I'm used to buying them all on the DS and PSP now. SNES, PS1, and PS2 were the golden years. NES wasn't shabby either, but SNES and the first two Playstations were truly special gens for RPGs to me. Anxiously awaiting Dragon Quest 10 and Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2.

I like more western style rpg, i am so tired of the "old final fantasy" -style of rpgs. I take a game like Witcher 2 over a final fantasy game anytime...

I'm hoping for more good JRPGs. I don't really care for any crappy games no matter the genre. JRPGs have always had a place in my gamer heart, but if they're not going to be good enjoyable expenses then they're basically a waste of money and space to me.

no we need snes again thats what we need ,

a freakin miracle , if we ever saw a cosnole with so many good rpgs as well as platformers and racing games and other games,

wii is close enough but not so much

im sorry and 360 and ps3 are so much further down that ladder it isnt funny ds and psp well their ok ,

if only theyd have more games with good gameplay ,

to many of one genre will be a no go in my book we need another snes

and we need it now not next gen

hopfully wii u is that snes

cause i doubt ps4 or 720 will be heres why , graphics and online and dlc seams to be their playground so much tehy dont care about fun games that well you get the picture ,

dont rely on all this stuff to be fun
