Hello, I'm curious as to how many of the 12 people on system wars are keen on buying the next Assassins Creed game.

This one has a pyramid.

Not at launch. I always wait a year and buy it for $20 or less.

If it's just going to be an Egyptian reskin of the past games, then probably not. Sadly, the formula of this series has just worn thin on me.

Last one I played was Black Flag and bloody loved it. But don't really know enough about this one yet to say either way. Ask me on Monday.

Let me guess, if you climb the pyramid, you won't need to climb towers because everything on the map will be mapped at once. What a cool feature. This game is gonna be so cool.

No, not without Ubi having gone back to the drawing board with it. Though I'm hopeful I can be persuaded by ship combat and combat redesigns, I'm still an advocate for Black Flag as the best AC game.

Nope. I never buy an asscreed game day one. They are great purchases at the $30-$40 range. I just wait until Black Friday.

Only ever enjoyed the first 2. The 3rd game sucked, and all the others were fairly bland. I did buy the Unity and Black Flag, but they were only 10 bucks or so, and I only ever played a few hours of each of them.

I'll be skipping on this series until they do a major revamp.

Ironically enough, I am actually enjoying Watch Dogs 2. They created a good amount of variety in the missions, which is kinda nice. Also got it for 30 bucks, so that wasn't bad.

I'll be watching to see how it looks but I won't pick it up until it's around $20, possibly $30 if it gets good marks.

It's not likely I will try it. My plate is already full and there are other games that interest me more than Assassin's Creed. :(

I don't plan on it.

Doubt the Naval Combat will be anything like Assassin's Creed IV.

Usually, I don't bother with the side-stuff, especially after I beat the main missions, and I have this approach for almost all games because side-quests are barely good, TW3 did it well thx to its interesting story and writing, but I'm still waiting for a game that delivers on this from the perspective of interesting combat scenarios, sth more game-y if you know what I mean :D

@mjorh: Syndicate/Ubisoft side missions are basically 'let's make people do the same boring thing over and over and see if we can get away with it'

Oh and by the way it ain't optional in Syndicate, you HAVE to do them. Just so you know :p

The witcher 3 side content is rad, because it doesn't feel like side content, it feels like actual mainline story missions.

oh shit! Honestly, it's the setting that draws me in, I'm curious to see how they've done it with London this time around.

Yeah, it feels connected, I love the game and I've enjoyed every second of it, even the combat which is not that great.

Yeah man, the main reason that draws me into all the Assassin's Creed games is the setting, the cities...

It's just a shame that Ubisoft is so lazy and takes the easy way out in their mission designs. I bet a lot of them look at the series and go, 'ah well good enough'

I mean the AC games are cool... They just don't have any memorable side characters of missions that stick with you like say GTA or even Saint's Row :/

Absolutely not, they would have to redo the stealth n combat systems for me to give it another go.

People pretend Black Flag is good, and I can safely say no the **** it isn't. The ship combat isn't even half that game and lacks any depth, there is a good chunk of that game that is the opposite of fun.

I think Bethesda games are also an exception to that rule, not so much because the side quests are great, but because the main quests aren't any better.

That was kinda savage lol

Honestly, I've only played Skyrim and all the missions were lackluster to the point that I stopped playing after like 15 hours, exploration and OST were great tho

They should capitalize on that, it was so much fun at first but it got repetitive and since it was like the only game having ship combat (correct me if i'm wrong), it was kinda refreshing

Plus there are no assassinations in that game... or maybe one.

So why the hell is it called ASSASSIN's creed.

____

Unity did redo the stealth and parkour systems, for the better.

Well before Unity there wasn't really any stealth. It was just 'you hide in a bush = you are hidden' 'You sit on a bench = you are hidden'

Maybe they can improve on those systems ?

I took a Hiatus from Assassin's Creed games right after Black Flag. I don't even know when I'll comeback to AC games but looking at this, I might give Origin a shot but not on launch day however.

The setting is cool and they had an extra year to work on it, so maybe. But we have next to nothing on the game so it's up in the air really.

No. I'm not a fan of Ubisoft schematic open world formula (predicting exploration, collectables pointed in the map, uninteresting stories and characters, and i hate abstergo back story).

I have been reading that Ubisoft will do a 180º to their series, taking notes from actual good devs like CDPR, Bethesda, Rockstar, etc. Let's see what happens.

This would be wonderful. They need to flesh out characters and missions so it doesn't feel like a bore... but like an actual story you are going through. Like you are doing actual quests for actual people;

Not by the numbers crap.

They already sold me on the setting, now they need to do the same with mission design and NPCs.

And yeah, drop the abstergo stuff !
