No. I'm not a fan of Ubisoft schematic open world formula (predicting exploration, collectables pointed in the map, uninteresting stories and characters, and i hate abstergo back story).
I have been reading that Ubisoft will do a 180º to their series, taking notes from actual good devs like CDPR, Bethesda, Rockstar, etc. Let's see what happens.
This would be wonderful. They need to flesh out characters and missions so it doesn't feel like a bore... but like an actual story you are going through. Like you are doing actual quests for actual people;
Not by the numbers crap.
They already sold me on the setting, now they need to do the same with mission design and NPCs.
And yeah, drop the abstergo stuff !
That's my biggest complain about Ubisoft games: 'you climbed tower 1/5', 'you discovered area 1/10', 'you picked collectable 1/50', etc.... Everything is predictable and ruled by numbers.
I loved assassim creed 1. 2. brotherhood an revelations. Got 3 but something was off. Maybe Ive grown attached to altair (cult of serial killers for a better world) or to ezio auditori (serial killer for revenge and justice).
But most recent assassins creed are set on periods of time with guns. That might be what I dislike.
This new one on ancient Egipt can be big for me. Yet Im gonna wait for more information

Exactly, it feels like a checklist, it feels like a chore.
It doesn't feel like you are on an adventure in a living and breathing world.
Probably not right away. Not so much because I don't like the games but more so because I've fallen behind in the series and I already have too many other games to play first.
The ancient Egypt theme has me intrigued, but they need to improve the gameplay as well. If the gameplay looks improved as well, I might buy it.

Indeed. That's why i love Bethesda open world games. You enter a dungeon or building completly blind. You can find a powerful item, a new weapon, a new quest, or just nothing. This unpredictibility is what makes these games fun to explore to me.
The only Assassin's Creed game I've cared about in recent years was Black Flag, and that was only good for the parts where it wasn't been Assassin's Creed. When it was just focused on letting you be a Pirate, it was one of the most fun games I'd played in years.
I'd much prefer them to just take those mechanics and build a true Pirate game around them, so much potential, wasted on an Assassin's Creed game.

Interesting stuff.
Looks like it confirms the game will be 4K 30fps on Scorpio.
I'm interested, as always. I might even watch the Ubisoft keynote for this. That is something I didn't do for years.
I bought all the AC games after 3 at a discounted price, so I wouldn't feel dissapointed.
So far it has helped, the games didn't feel like a waste of money, and I had my fun with them. But I can't ignore that the series still has this same old formula. It does get a bit boring to do the same things in pretty much only a different setting.
I hope they come up with something groundbraking and fresh this time. They had an extra year, so we'll see how that worked out.
