I sure hope not, as I'm a collector.

Hope not either, as I love physical copies. That said, I'd much rather see the industry go all-digital as opposed to all-streaming. That's something I will not support as an only option.
No. I still enjoy having my collection on display, but moreso than that, I don't trust Microsoft and Sony enough to go all digital on any of their platforms. I'd hate to think of what'll happen to digital games once the servers for these consoles are taken offline.
Consoles I prefer hard copies but nowadays you get bugger all with physical. I remember a time when you got a manual the size of a small novel, extra goodies in LE versions and fancy cases. Today you get a slip of paper with a code for extra DLC that becauses available to all after 3 months. Whats the point of even buying physical now? With FH2 I got a slip of paper that told me the controls.... thats it! I remember getting GT2 on the PS1 that came with not one but two manuals!
I'm admittedly more digital now then I thought I'd be a few years ago... but still am nowhere near ready enough to go full digital.
When Nintendo pulls their head out of their ass, I can see myself going full digital on console + handheld. I've been digital only on PC since 2008.
I basically prefer physical copies because of the satisfaction of collecting them, but I'm mainly just looking for low prices. I still like to get physical copies off of Amazon, because you can find great deals for used ones year round (In June 2014 I got Skyrim Legendary Edition for just $20, half the price of other copies and a third of the non-sale price). Steam has great sales but they only come around, what, four times a year?
I'll probably just go wherever the industry takes me unless it's going to streaming.
I'm all digital on Xbox One but refuse to on PS4 and Wii U and 3DS.
May I ask why? You find more value in the games released on those 3 consoles?
On Xbox One it's out of convenience. They have some excellent deals digitally from time to time and I jump on them when I can. I'm also a high ranking rewards member which gets me a nice rebate on all my digital purchases, at 8% now and I about about an addition 8% sales tax digitally, netting about a $10 gain on new games, which is more than most used games sell for so way I see it it's a net savings and I retain my rights to the games. Since it's my primary console to play multiplats on too it helps cut down on clutter and space to store games. Installation is so much easier digitally, considering one has a decent ISP and bandwidth, mine isn't great, 50 megabits/sec but it's good enough and installs about 19GB/hour. Digital games install as a background task so I can be playing other games while I'm playing something else, instead of doing it the disc method which requires staring at the dashboard and waiting. Another benefit of digital is games are ready to play at 9PM here on west coast so no waiting until midnight just to pick up from store only to go home and install. There's also the nice benefit of pre-order and pre-installations.
On Wii U and PS4, my collection isn't that big as I mainly just get exclusives on them, I'm fine with discs. Since PS4 installs games while it plays there's no convenience there to go digital. That plus I read about how when installs get corrupted the solution is to uninstall/reinstall, and frankly I don't want to do a lot of that. I also don't trust Sony with my credit card info, and from stories of how they refuse to refund users with compromised credit cards and hacked accounts, leaving the only option for credit card to put a stop payment or reversal on the transaction, then if that happens Sony threatens to wipe people's digital libraries clean... yeah, **** that noise. I might feel much different on PS4 if I had confidence in their digital services being more consumer friendly and able to protect my CC info, but I don't. Another area that makes me feel uneasy about Sony digital rights is hardware limitations on titles purchased, and a need to account for the serial numbers of each device and deactivate them to gain installs to other devices, not a very user friendly method.
As for Wii U, it has a 32GB HDD, they have no flexibility on pricing in their digital store. I wasn't going to get an external HDD for it. I've also yet to gain confidence in rights retention. Such as if my Xbox One or breaks, I just get another and there are all my games when I log into my account. If my Wii U ever got stolen, rights are tied to the machine. I'm sure Nintendo might do the right thing in the end but I'm going to have to jump through a lot more hoops. It isn't as simple as just logging into my account from another machine.
PS4 may be the last gaming console I buy for myself for a long while. If PS5 doesn't allow discs or some other physical format then I'll be passing on it till the games I want are highly discounted. No sense in paying full price for games I won't legally own.
I only buy digital when the price is really low. If the price is the same or close for disc vs digital I will always buy a disc. I can sell them if they suck, and games take far too long to download. So to answer your question, no I will not be going all digital any time soon.
Digital pricing models on consoles are terrible.
As long as MS or Sony are in charge we'll never see pricing comparable to PC gaming.
I will fight against going full digital for as long as I can. Hopefully there will always be a physical disc option and if a physical disc option is available, I will always choose the physical disc option.
I like being able to display my games on a shelf, I like being able to sell my games if I don't like it, I like being able to bring my games to a friend's house, I like that I can usually get physical copies cheaper on Amazon than the price they go for digitally, and most importantly, I like the security of knowing that I own the game and nobody can ever take it away from me. Someday, the servers that hosts those digital games will be taken offline, but if I own a physical disc then I will always be able to play the games and that is comforting to me.
Oh, and even before the servers go completely offline, we have already seen many cases where digital-only games are taken down due to things like licenses expiring. For example, I would really love to buy the last OutRun game that was released in 2009, but I can't because it was digital-only and two years later Sega had to take it down due to their contract with Ferrari expiring. If that game would have had a physical copy then I would still be able to get it. I think this would be the worst part about an all digital future; so many games are going to get lost forever. Hopefully, it never happens.
Xbox One help me transition to digital easier this gen. With the ability to basically just plug in an external hard drive with up to two 6TB without needing to swap out the 500GB or 1TB internal hard drive, I'm pretty much set for awhile, much more longer than the PS4's swapped out 2TB maxed internal hard drive with no external hard drive support for games. Also from using free apps and things like Xbox Rewards and Bing Rewards, I continue to gather free Xbox money so almost all my digital games are free or heavily discounted. Plus I game share with my bro who also gets free Xbox money doing the same thing. So since I save money, keep my entertainment center clean from clutter and since you have to install disc games too anyways, I went digital this gen. Oh yeah, I've received free digital game codes from Xbox Rewards and game review codes from various sources, and Microsoft have been offering free backward compatible games playable on the Xbox One. Plus I haven't shared, borrowed nor sold any of my games on disc for like over a decade now. So going digital is the most convenient money saving optional decision for my situation and preference. But games should always be on discs.
I have one physical this gen and that's bloodborne because it came with the console. I have no desire what so ever to hoard more than I already have.

+1
As long as the option exists, I see no reason to choose digital over physical. I've bought tons of digital games through sales, but I"m sure as hell not plopping down $59 for a digital game. No way. That will never happen.
If the prices are equal, I'm obviously going with the phsyical copy. Just for the possibility that maybe I can sell it. I just want that freedom to be able to sell a game when I'm done with it. But the thing is, prices aren't even equal. Outside of extreme sales (which are awesome), most of the time the digital price is actually higher than the physical price. That makes it even more absurd.
In my country internet is still not good enough for that . so no . I'm not .
but I can imagine if I was in USA or Europe or japan I was all digital .
Sure, why not, but then please give us at least one 3.5'' slot. Using 2.5'' is just annoying and the "huge ugly adapters" worthless as the PS4 can't handle 4TB (at least not with sleep mode)
I sell all my games after im done playing them. Full digital is nothing something i want to see ever.
I been gone all digital ever since this gen started. No more going to Gamestop, Target, ect. just to go pick up my games, digtal makes it easy for me to buy my games at home or at work.
To answer your question if next-gen ready to go fully digital, the answer is still no. Physical will still be around, there are collectors that want to buy there games physical copies, the whole planet isn't ready to go all digital, and these game publishers know the world isn't ready to go digital so the answer is still no to fully digital.
