I like the explosions and background better on the 360 version. I like how the PS3 version is lighter, because I can't see anything at some parts in the 360 version. Comparison Video: SD Quicktime: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17891&type=mov&pl=game SD WMV: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17891&type=wmv&pl=game HD Quicktime: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17890&type=mov&pl=game HD WMV: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17890&type=wmv&pl=game

I've noticed that in all of gametrailers comparisons, the PS3 seems too bright and the 360 seems too dark.

Wow Sony's is lighter -- it's called turning up the brightness on your TV -- or maybe choosing the brightness setting in the game's video options.

I agree, but it can't be worse than Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire. I think it has great appeal to mech fans. I told my friend about it. He played previous Armored Cores and has the PSP version. He really wants to play this game, but he doesn't have a 360 or PS3 yet since he's a somewhat casual gamer.

wow. maybe the low ps3 sales numbers drove down the production time for the PS3, becasue that looks aweful compared to the 360 version.

Well cows, lets hear the excuses, I gave you a good one. I guarentee we will never hear that a more expencive machine performs sub-par to the 360.

I watched the video carefully but aside from the difference in brightness I don't really see much of a difference. There were a few hiccups in the frame rate from the PS3 version during big explosions but to be fair, the 360 screen didn't seem to show any close-up explosions of equal intensity.

when you are looking pause it and lookin the details(when its split screen) theres a huge difference, especially when they are decending into that tunnel. the lighting on the ps3 just looks, well, bad. and the 360 definantly has nicer textures and more detail.

I'm really not seeing it. Other than lighting differences, which are pretty significant, I can't really see any super fine detail that make one or the other stand out. The lighting was perhaps a bit more natural in parts on the 360 version, such as that deep tunnel, which was still very bright on the PS3 despite no light sources. The only major differences I noticed was that the 360 lighting seemed to have more of a brown/green tint while the PS3 had a gray tint.

that looks more like a PC version, or a target render, the 360 game wont look like that or either be downgraded or will have like 2 mechs around you at once. cus gears cant even have that many objects with AI on screen.

If these videos don't look exactly the same graphically, they should just stop making games.

[QUOTE="WARRZONE"]I like the explosions and background better on the 360 version. I like how the PS3 version is lighter, because I can't see anything at some parts in the 360 version. Comparison Video: SD Quicktime: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17891&type=mov&pl=game SD WMV: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17891&type=wmv&pl=game HD Quicktime: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17890&type=mov&pl=game HD WMV: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17890&type=wmv&pl=gamecobrax80

I've noticed that in all of gametrailers comparisons, the PS3 seems too bright and the 360 seems too dark.

My guess is that PS3 does not use HDR. The 360 obviously uses it but some low budget games are too dark with HDR.

Yeah, it doesn't get worse than Gundam.

Hey Gundam Ownzz and don't you forget it. Now Gundam games thats a different story, now "Mobile Ops:The One Year War" will restore faith in the Gundam name in the western market and move ten's of thousands of console unites.

Maybe so. Far Cry and Half Life 2 use HDR nicely, but what were their budgets compared to Armored Core 4's budget? Probably a lot more. What puzzles me is why would they make one system use it, but not the other?

[QUOTE="Happyphilter"][QUOTE="elementz28"][QUOTE="Happyphilter"][QUOTE="Corvin"]I watched the video carefully but aside from the difference in brightness I don't really see much of a difference. There were a few hiccups in the frame rate from the PS3 version during big explosions but to be fair, the 360 screen didn't seem to show any close-up explosions of equal intensity.elementz28
when you are looking pause it and lookin the details(when its split screen) theres a huge difference, especially when they are decending into that tunnel. the lighting on the ps3 just looks, well, bad. and the 360 definantly has nicer textures and more detail.

when i pause it and look at it..the 360 version looks so dark..while the ps3 is brighter..you can barely see any detailson the mech in the 360 version

well its probabaly your monitor. how about you check the pic posted :]

dude is to dark..anyone who have eyes can see it..how can you play a game like that..and im not goin to look at the pix..because its not in motion..

Read my post above regarding HDR (High Dynamic Range) lighting. 360 uses it, PS3 apparently does not. HDR is supposed to adjust the brightness the way your pupil dilates. It looks like HDR is used in the 360 version since the lighting changes, but the tunnel appears too dark. The PS3 has the same lighting (no HDR) and everything looks bright (but the same).

Ty for adding to my point, the X360 version still looks better it may be darker but look at what little walls you can see on the X360 version they look way better, now look at the PS3 walls "They look like crap". Just fact it the X360 version looks better. Does not matter if it's darker or lighter it looks over all better the lighting, textures and from the looks of the PS3 Version pix it does not even have AA

The PC version of Oblivion could not do HDR and Anti-aliasing at the same time. The 360 version could. My guess is that the PS3 can't do HDR for "free". The 360 can do this because it has the extra 10MB of EDRAM on the GPU.

Isn't it HDR rendering (or HDRR) instead of HDR lighting? I know there is also HDRI (I=imaging), but that's used for photos. I think those are the only 2 kinds. The rendering affects the lighting. So is HDR lighting the same thing as HDR rendering or are they different?

*Looks at Kameo and  99 knights and then thinks about how the hell would they pack over 16 AI or players onto the lay out of Gears of War maps properly*. Also i never herd them say they wanted 16 players, Gears of War would suck with 16 people even if you made bigger maps. Making Gears of War smaller makes it more action packed and less camping, with out the smaller maps and player count it would be a slow, no team work camp fest and suck. Clearly you have never played a good amount of Gears of War online games.
