The reason for the high demand is because people have been waiting for the new Slim for months after all the rumors about it. I expect Nintendo to beat Sony in October and MS to be in third.

Sounds like my school ... well, if i was in school.

I think the PS3 will continue to outsell the 360 for the rest of the generation but it still probably won't catch it.

MS isn't going to let Sony's PS3 outsell the 360 for much longer. Hype for the slim will die off eventually.

Actually the publishers should be looking at where there game can fit in the market. If they only look at attach rates, they are rather simple.
