As a 360 fan I MUST Admit. LAIR HAS ME Worried

I was watching those videos of lair and I Must admit that even though Im a huge 360 fan, I couldnt help but think that all the 360 games look last gen compared to Lair. Honestly Ive never seen a game that looked that good with such great physics and so HUGE! I mean wow, I have to say that the 360 could not handle a game like lair. What worries more is, if Gears is the best the 360 can do then well, MS better think of something fast because those lair videos surpass Gears by a longshot. Again, im not trying to bash the 360, infact I own both consoles the 360 and the PS3 and im a huge 360 fan. But I Really think that the 360 days are numbered with its now limited hardware and limited format DVD9. 

Also. I must admit that I was always one to make fun of killzone calling it "Flopzone" and such but after seeing those Lair videos, Im really starting to have second thoughts and I Think killzone might actually pull it off this time and create an amazing game.  Another thing that really has me worried is the PS3 wont even be out for a year yet and its ALREADY able to produce mind blowing games like Lair that surpass 360's best flagship.. GEARS, just imagine 2 years from now what the PS3 games will look like  again im a HUGE 360 fan, but I gotta hand it to sony they are really starting to shape up.

Ok, first of all, you shouldn't be worried that another system is going to get a good game.

Secondly, I think the Lair is being terribly overhyped.

Is it just me, or does the whole game look blurry? And look at the soldiers when you fly around them... it looks like they just stand there in perfect rows waiting to get lit on fire. This is nitpicking, but the grass in the game looked pretty substandard too.

The only thing that stood out to me as cool was the dragon on dragon fighting, and not even the "traditional fighter" part, I'm talking the God of War-esque "shove your weapon in them and fly off so it drags through their skin". Other than that, the game really strikes me as Dynasty Warriors with dragons and flying.

But thats just me, and since when has any single opinion ever mattered on these boards? :P 

Yeah, you're right, people are going to go out of their way to spend $200 more on a PS3 just because Lair has marginally better graphics than Gears of War.

Just like when I saw those Motorstorm pics. Man, when that game comes out the PS3 is going to just destroy every console in its path. Did anyone see those Motorstorm videos? It's so realistic.FlashMan2006

But you have to understand something though. When ACTUAL gameplay Motorstorm vids where shown everyone knew it didnt look as impressive as the E3 trailer. The difference with lair is they are NOT showing CGI "Target renders" whats we saw was 100% gameplay and it looked near CGI quality!  

Oh Puuuuuuuuuuuuleeze. Lair is hardly impressive. Looks clunky as hell and is a blurry mess.

Im not a fakeboy. Im just not in denial. Im the type of guy that calls it like i see it. Yes Im a 360 fan but its not like i have some sort of emotonal bond to my 360 that im unable to say if other games on other consoles surpass it. I guess im also upset about the Halo 3 vids, they looked very underwhelming. I know they where only "alpha" build but still thats no excuse. Those lair vids where Alpha build also and they already surpass anything on the 360,so halo 3 being in "alpha build" is no excuse 

and this is why I own both consoles...becase each one will have great games. I will hold judgement on Liar until I play it...video's and what not can make even the worst games look killer.

Umm actually yea. If people went out of their way to spend $400.00 on gears beause of its great graphics, what makes you think people wont go out of their way to spend $600.00 for even BETTER graphics than Gears. And dont even say "bu bu gears has good gameplay also" Sure it has good gameplay but lets be real, do you think if the graphics werent as good that it would have sold as many? Umm no, its the graphics that sold that game

This game looks totally mediocre, from the silly water effects, to the minimal things in levels, like fake looking buildings, to the empty mountains etc etc of course you can make a huge barren world, but Oblivon in comparisson is a 100 times more important achievement, even Kameo packs some huge levels and tons more detail, better effects and lighting that this

lets not forgot that the enmies 300 feet away are 1 pixel.  It takes aot of detail on that one pixel. *sarcasim*

Kameo had 4000 units, all textured perfectly, full lighting effects, day/night cycles etc without a hickup, and was released more than a year back, many soldiers mean NOTHING really, the game is still empty comparing to both Gears and Kameo, not to speak about Oblivion

I'm sorry but this game does not look better than Gears of War. I still think Gears has better graphics. In fact games like Mass Effect have better graphics than Lair. so im not worried about this game at all. 360 games look great, anyone who honestly thinks PS3 graphics will be so great that the 360 wont even be close is crazy. the fact is that both systems are very close in graphical power. PS3s biggest advantage is crunching numbers, not better graphic details or textures.

In my opinion, that looks better then Lair. 

Im not worried about liar... on the 1up podcast Shane praised it soo much and made it should fantastic... but on the 1upshow they the others didn't sound to hyped about it. Supposidly it lags bad right now and the missions are very lame. The missions are like destroy this, destroy that... objective/time based and all in a linear order. I wasn't impressed by the graphics either, the ground troops looked horrible and had very poor animations. Apparantly some people think it looks wonderfull but i think they are blind.

If people are saying they where not impressed by lair then they are blind. Even the MOST hardcore 360 fans have to admit that so far it surpasses anything on the 360 to date, it even surpassed the Halo alpha video we saw. And this game is only in its Alpha stages. Again yes im a big 360 fan, but im not gong to be in denial. im just calling it how i see it. and the 360 days are numbered with its limited DVD9. There is no way the 360 could handle Lair. Omg, can 360 owner stop it with Gears. It is always Gears. Only Gears. Every post about the 360 is Gears this and Gears that.  I do not own either of the 3 consoles. I still have my original xbox.  I am concern that the 360 has been out for a little more than a year and only thing that out is Gears. Gears this, Gears that. $300-$400 for just Gears is expensive. Where is Halo 3, Fable 2, Huxley?  I am looking fwd to Huxley whenever it comes out.
