Zhengi: Are you implying I didn't own all three consoles? Let me nip this in the bud. I bought all three because I had high hopes, expecting games to start coming out. What I was greeted with was a platform that continually lost exclusive, and a system that started leaning so heavily towards the casual consumer that it made me sick. Its only natural I'd get rido f them.Vandalvideo
I agree with both of your statements on ps3 and wii. 360 is just the way to go this gen, no fanboyism about it, it just has the best games now and it just keeps getting the games fanboys are hyping.

Because I'm an objective consumer that likes to buy lots of stuff. Its not my fault that there wasn't anything to play so I ended up buying games that did interest me. A gamer doesn't hold onto something that doesn't interest him, he trades it in to buy stuff that does!Vandalvideo
Actually, I think you fit more in the category of compulsive buyer more than anything. Objective doesn't describe you at all in your explanation. You're more of the buy the thing first and then have the buyer's remorse afterwards. That makes more sense than anything else. So all in all, you might not be a fanboy, but probably only a 360 gamer. That's cool, but not a true gamer who would enjoy a wide range of games and that is why a true gamer needs all 3 for the different games that are offered.

It seems like a waste. But oh well, I replied to a different post with a different response that would fit here. Just read above. And it's definitely too bad that you would willingly wait a year for the 360 games to come out, but yet not wait for the other games for the other two systems. It's your loss.

I do enjoy a wide variety of games ranging from RPG to party to action to adventure. All my needs have been met by the PC and 360. There isn't any reason for me to have the aforementioned systems at all.

[QUOTE="gromit007"]

People under 25 do not remember the NES very well.

not_new_to_game

I personally have no idea what this means.  I mean, I am only 17, but I remember well the days when I owned a NES and Sega Genesis and SNES and all those consoles...

But maybe that's because I was poor and about 6 years behind the curve on owning game systems....

Being 17, you were 5 years away from being born when the NES came out.

I didnt talk about the SNES or Genesis because its one of those middle-ground areas that I did not want to get into. By the time you were old enough to play games (maybe 4yo) the PS1 was out. Damn, I am old:(

Buying all three consolse that you may or may nto use surely makes you a gamer. -_- Speaking from experience, btu a gamer should only buy platforms that he knows there are some games that interset him for. I bought all three platforms and decided to trade in the Wii and PS3 cause there weren't any games I was looking forward to. A "gamer" doesn't waste money.

Then you're not really a gamer then. Just a 360 fanboy.

A 360 fanboy? HUH?! *Tips his hat in a momment of silence* I didn't say PS3 or Wii games were bad, I said they don't ineterest me. WHY SHOULD I BUY PLATFORMS THAT DON'T INTEREST ME?!

The question is, why did you buy them if they don't interest you? You bought them just to trade them in? That's logical :?

he was expecting them to interest him but they didnt. he didnt say wii and ps3 sucks. he just said when he had them, the systems just didnt satisfy him. and niether did the upcoming titles. so he traded them in so he could atleast get some money back and not be out like 850 bucks.

Right, and he was expecting launch consoles to have everything he wanted right from the start. :lol:i have a wii and a 360. love the wii alot. im not lieing to u. i just assumed thats what this guy was thinking. probably didnt lookinto the games right. and screwed himself over. i dont think hes any less of a gamer cause of that or more of a fanboy. Oh man, it gets worse and worse with every lie that is thrown out there. If he didn't have the patience to wait for the good games to come out, why even buy the consoles at all? Hilarious.

Well, I'm not too sure. If you were a GC only gamer I've gotta say that they missed out on alot. The same can be said for any console.

See the thin is. I can fight a lot better than a businessman, so the Wii-mote can't beat me, and I don't think it's been a year yett.

1. Its been almost a year, they revealed the name 11 months ago.
2. I dont doubt that you can fight better than a Wii-remote, but I wasnt implying that a Wii-remote was coming to your house to kick your butt. Try again.

I understand, you're telling me to stop but I don't have to because the Wii-mote shall not bloody my nose, ya' digg?

Stand next to a drunk guy playing wii sports tennis. I dare you.

It's great to own a Wii, but the truth is that you're not missing much. Games like Metroid, Mario, SSB, and Fire Emblem are great, but they can be played on the Gamecube.

I dunno, I personally don't want to miss out on SSBB, SMG, SPM and there are other games like No More Heroes that look interesting to me.

I'm buying a Wii in the future though, not just yet.

After playing the Wii I have very, VERY tempted to buy a Wii. Over time that feeling faded and looking at the future lineup so far for the Wii, I can safely say I won't feel like I'm missing much if I don't buy the Wii right now, or in the near future. Just like the PS3 I'll see how things look a year from now then make a decision but so far my opinion isn't terribly favorable.

I don't understand. It's like saying you won't miss out much with the PS3 as games like GTA, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, and God of War are great, but they can be played on the PS2.

I'm not sure if anyones is. :? The only thing stopping me from owning a console and games is the funding... That and lack of solid supply of the Wii.

If you don't have friends to play with, than you don't need a Wii, a PC is more for you : Pwok7
And for those that are 18+ that kinda grew out of the "Brining friends around to play Consoles" :P

IMHO there's no way that a someone who calls himself a gamer can be satisfied with ONLY a Wii. Unles the have a 360, ps3 or a gaming pc.

But to answer your queation, no I don't need one. Atleast not yet. Maybe if they release some Real Games instead of gimicky Mini-games...

Because every true gamer has $1500+ to spend, right?  And every true gamer has a 60 inch HDTV and a top of the line sound system and every system ever made and X arbitrary game and a beanbag chair and a custom made controller and a perfect PC and awesome cabling and...

To be a gamer, call yourself one.  It's that simple.

Not really, I don't feel as if I'm missing out on much, my favorite Zelda game will always be the first one, as far as Metroid Prime goes I was bored off my ass and never really cared for Metroid, as far as Wario Ware goes I liked it better when he was starring in Virtual Boy platformers.. not big into these mini-game compilations.  Smash Bros. I rented the first one from Blockbuster and played a good chunk of Melee - this game is great if you constantly have friends over into this kind of thing I would guess.  Animal Crossing was quite possibility the must unenthralling N64 port ever next to Eternal Darkness.  Mario games, nothing can live up to the first Super Mario Bros. game.  There is no big draw for the Wii to me and I'm certainly not a big fan of them 1) Barely updating the hardware 2) Changing the control interface 3) Pushing for the uninitiated player - it is like throwing out your experience and built up conception and I can't STAND THAT it is like learning typing then giving you the keyboard that Courtroom transcriptionist use or changing the way the arrows come in DDR like the challenges.  There is nothing stupider than that.

Nope, don't need it nor do I want it. Besides Wii Sports, Nintendo haven't sold me why it is the "next step for gaming" Gameplay goes beyond the peripheral in your hands...

[QUOTE="Tristam22"]See, with the 360 and PS3, I asked myself: "As a gamer, do I need a 360 or PS3?" If I'm gonna miss -Bomberman: Act Zero -GUN -Pimp My Ride -Sonic the Hedgehog -Eragon -Pocketbike Racer -Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire Then, NO, I don't need a PS3 or 360! :D Now, Timmy, do you see how ridiculous your little thread is?

I don't really like the Wii's lineup. But I bought one, because at $250, the few games I do want justify the price.
