Man, did MS show ANY gameplay videos at the conference or all pre-rendered and/or CGI trailers. What are they? Sony?

Having said that, I was interested in Alan Wake when they first showed it like 3 years ago but quickly lost interest. The screen shots never seemed to look that great to me and the game was taking for ever to come out. Plus, not being a 360 owner I admit to originally being a bit ticked when MS bought exclusivity.

Now that I've seen the trailer, I am going to give kudos to 360 owners. Game looks and feels amazing. I'm impressed and it makes me want a 360. Although part of me DOES wonder how much of this trailer was 360 and how much was on PC and how much was rendered. Other than that, the look and feel of the game gives me that feeling I had when Silent Hill first came out.

all the gameplay MS showed off was gameplay, and in realtime. Forza III gameplay, Alan Wake gameplay, SC gameplay, only thing that was CGI was crackdown.

Check out the gameplay demonstration from the actual keynote. They play the game on stage with a 360 controller.

So......when are we going to see the inevitable graphics battle threads pitting Alan Wake against Sony's exclusives?

Soon. PS3 gamers will say it's PC footage, PC gamers will say it's PC footage, 360 gamers will say it's 360 footage.

The graphics and lighting were amazing. Best looking 360 game to date, it's up there for graphics king IMO. Plus they still have a year to work on it.

There is the Trailer from the microsoft conference, and I have to say this game is going to be so good.

Yeah. But I found Shadow Complex to be equally good. It caught my attention as soon as I saw the EPIC logo.

It's looking good, graphics or animations not quite as good as I expected, I'm just pressuming that that was one of the more action heavy scenes so not gonna label it RE5 jus yet. Splinter Cell didn't really impress me, presentation was good but otherwise it was meh.

Alan Wake was by far the most impressive offereing form the Microsoft conference. I am very interested in this title and not excited about its Spring 2010 release date.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]I highly disagree, from the perspective of a horror fan that is. It needs to be said that I had high expectations of Alan Wake to revive a semi-dead genre. It didn't do that. Lack of unique enemy design really ruined the suspense. Reanimated crap wasn't scary.3picuri3
fully formed generalized opinions based on a 2 minute gameplay demo ftl.

I'm not going to base an opinion on hypotheticals that may or may not grace the game. I'm going to let my opinion on the game evolve as I see more of it, as I said on Neogaf. But what I've seen so far failed my expectations.

reminded me of RE4, or what is what supposed to be like. And that narrating during gameplay is going to get really dry. Its definitely a great looking game though, too bad its been delayed again till 2010. I frankly have lost interest and will just rent it when it is released.

the point was, and a valid one, that it is ridiculous to qualify your expectations based on such a small sampling of what is supposed to be a rather long game.

I'm not going to hold out hope on the game and ignore the footage that I have seen. I'm going to revise my opinion as more footage comes out. From what I saw at E3, it failed my expectations. Thats my point. If and when they show more, I will likely revise that opinion to match the footage.

Alan Wake and Splinter Cell blew my mind away. They look friggin sweet and are my most anticipated games by a long shot now. Splinter Cell looks like i wanted MGS4 to be like (Gameplay Wise)

Thanks. I missed the live show and was relying on recaps and highlites which only seemed to show trailer type footage. I just watched the show and they did show a lot of good stuff. Alan Wake does look great in motion.

I've never really cared or been impressed by MS's shows. I'm a PS3 and Nintendo fan. But after watching this show, MS has really thrown down the gauntlet. It will be tough for Nintendo or Sony to top them. They did an amazing job of showing celebrities, gameplay, drawing attention to both multiplat and exclusive content equally, had some surprise announcements and new innovations. I'm no MS fan (or 360 owner), but this was the ideal show in my opinion. E3 has sucked for years and this is the first time in a LONG time someone did it right.

Nice work to MS. I'm impressed.

Well, I'm a HUGE SH fan, but this has some interesting differences. Although SH is very interesting, so similarities shouldn't be frowned apon. Like the idea of the line between reality and fantasy being blurred.

Kind of reminds me of pitch black actually. With creatures with a weakness to light.
