Yeah, this doesn't surprise me at all. Surely they're not all meant to be purchased by a single gamer though. Wouldn't a Metallica fan pick up Metallica Guitar Hero, but not necessarilyVan HalenGuitar Hero?http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/693803/As-Many-As-Eight-Guitar-Hero-Games-Might-Hit-in-2009.html

bit rediculous. they should be taking the Rock Band approach and have stacking music librarys by continuily porting them all to the next game.darkspineslayer
then thats 60$ they're not making! :o
Well,at least the games will sell well. That's a good thing,right...?:|

I dont even see how this many guitar hero games is profitable after a while people just wont care they are killing the longevity of the series and the rock music game genreAnd this is why Activision needs to be forcibly shut down. They are ruining the gaming industry.

I agree.. Look what they're doing to Call of Duty as well..seriously who wants to buy the same thing over and over? Why not just buy counterstrike or something and not have to buy it again..I atleast praise EA for trying to make some new IPs...Activision may be worse in my eyes

That's a might, so no one knows. We have three Guitar Hero's announced so far, no one knows of eight. Also, I really don't care of the milkages in Guitar Hero or Rock Band, I just buy what I want. Something you should blame Activision and Harmonix for is using System Wars between PSP and DS for their music game war.Guitar Hero is becoming a joke. They're milking the series for as much as they can get out of it. Why don't they just make the game available for DLC? Why do we have to keep spending $60 for more songs? I say we should just stick to Rock Band.
Activision is the worst publisher in the market right now. the only rhythm game that I am buying this year will be Rock Band Beatles.
Never buying any Guitar Hero/Rockband games...you play just one and you pretty much played them all.

but you play completely different songs.

Truth. And people say it's EA. It was never EA.
While new songs can be somefun, the real fun of the guitar games is when you play it for the first time on a low difficulty and work your way up. You start off on medium and slowly get better until you can play most of the expert songs. It is the journey to expert which is the fun part. Once you can beat all the expert songs easily it realy not that fun anymore, even with new songs, IMHO.
I'll be picking up Guitar Hero: Metallica. :D Eight games in one year does seem a little ridiculous though. I think they're maybe sacrificing quality for quantity here.Ninja-HippoYou only now realized that's Activison's new business model?

Not worth shelling out money for a "brand new" title every time for me.
Let's just say the 8 upcoming games are expansion packs value at 30-40 bucks each. Are you willing to pay say a couple hundred dollars just so you can play the same game with a couple dozen new songs? New songs should be made available through DLC, and even then it feels like a rip-off.
