[QUOTE="HSYOON_1"][QUOTE="dustin-diamond"]Lets examine the 3 major territories:
NA - In the most recent NDP, the PS3 sold a mere 50 k less than the 360 even considering the fact it has no games, and it costs 600 $,... whats happens when it does have games, and doesnt cost 600$? Seems like the PS3 will score a lot of sales on brand popularity alone
Japan - It's a given that Sony will Dominate MS in this region
Europe - Europe has a history of giving Sony strong support, and if pre-orders are any indication, the PS3 will have its largest success in this region.
So there you have it, as much as I think the 360 is superior, breaking down the different regions I believe the PS3 will outsell the 360 this gen, though not by nearly as large a margin as last gen...

About NA. you make it sound as though things will only get better for sony, and the 360 is not getting a price drop or getting any more games. Do you know what happens once the PS3 has games and does not cost $600? The 360 will have a price drop and will have MORE games. You make it sound as if nintendo and MS will play nice and sit around and wait for Sony to catch-up.
In Japan, it doesn't matter, because the Wii is totally annihilating both ms and sony's next gen efforts, while the DSLITE is destroying the PSP. Japan is no longer Sony-land. It's all about Nintendo.
Europe. Europe we have no idea, but we should take note that not many people in europe are gonna dish out half-a-mortage payment for a videogame system. Also take in to your head that even though Europe does consists of lot of countrys, it's considered the smallest market compared to NA and Japan. Do you really think that the SMALLEST sales region will magically put Sony on top. I doubt that.
Well like I said, I dont think its impossible for the the 360 to best the PS3 overall --- just unlikely when considering that it's already pretty much a given that it will lose in 2 of the 3 major territories.... and possibly all 3 of them. Japan is a done deal, PS3 beats the 360 here every time
PS3 is the heavy favorite in Europe,
that leaves NA, anything can happen here I agree... but even if the 360 wins this territory, it would need a landslide victory to make up for it's shortcomings in the other regions. You downplay the importance of Europe. The 360 needs Europe. I don't see it happening but this is all purely speculation.
OK, MS will lose 2 of the 3 major territories and possibly all 3 of them. What in the world makes your think that they will be SONY territories. Once again, your forgetting Nintendo. Beating 360 sales is not a huge accomplishment in Japan.
The PS3 is the heavy favorite in Europe? really? i didn't know you had a cystal ball. Your bold claim is yet to be proven. hint hint.. PS3 hasn't release in europe yet. BTW did you see that article that says the PS3 will not play as many BC games as the NA/JPN systems. After the delays and now this BC issues, and of course the over-inflated price in europe, i really don't see the PS3 having as much success as the PS2. Remember the PS2 was the favored system NOT because of brand loyalty or whatever. It won because it was cheap and had a huge catalogue of games.
and yes i 100% agree. All your posts are nothing more than speculation.
