Dammit, all the coolest stuff happens at E3. Harrumph!
I enjoy gaming on both and am still the same person...
There is no difference, gamers are all the same, its just normal for people to have different tastes in games & system on which to play..

There is always going to be some overlap between the two groups, but really you've got one group (Consoles) who are "happy" with what they are given while the other (PC) will strive to "get more" from a game, either through improving their own hardware, modding or just plain moaning/feedback until a quick patch turns up.
PC gamers also have the power to vote with their feet (clicks) - don't like a service? Change. If you're asked to pay for a service on a console (such as XBL/Youtube), you've got no alternative. Developers on a PC have a more complicated relationship with a gamer that has a lot more "power" than the gamers on a console.
We see the high and mighty Steam having to make a few changes (e.g. daily sales) to compete with other services and ensure they maintain the "premier" DL service for PC gaming - they know that PC gamers can desert them the second they slip up.

yep realised that after watching it... :( need to watch first comment later :P
I think what they say is spot on. PC Gamers generally like deeper experiences, they have a certain level of expectations (such as innovation) and they are willing to take a risk. We are also more open to new experiences and well PC Gamers overall have a deeper pocket so they can spend that money on the PC and they can also enjoy other systems.jonathant5We are also harder to impress, especially when talking about visuals. :)
[QUOTE="Arach666"]So,I guess considering what we see on this forums, all those devs must be PC elitists for thinking somewhat the same as some of the things PC gamers here say(and get called elitists in the process). :PsoulitaneShut up you PC elitist :x Still not helping with the build!

Different audiences have different needs and expectations, whether we're talking about the PC or consoles or handhelds or phones or whatever. There is a sizeable amount of overlap in terms of tastes but the core player base of each platform expects the games on their platform to meet certain standards. Giving everyone the same experience may appear fair but means many players feel like they aren't being looked after.
It's no surprise that the companies that put the proper amount of effort into their PC releases see dramatically better sales than those that copy-paste the 360 code over and call it a day.
Guess you should be a PC gamer then, because you don't get much freedom on consoles.Im a PC gamer by those definitions despite the fact that I play vast majority of my games on PS3...

Ive noticed that a lot of PC guys (such as myself) do want great graphics but we are not graphics whores. On top of that PC Gamers also appreciate god art style and are not all about technical graphics (although so are the guys on the consoles).

I've been PC gamer since late 80's and this gen was the first that I actually decided to get a console. Im not complaining tbh, I get enough variety, quality and core gaming experiences on PS3 with games like Valkyria Chronicles, Demons/Dark Souls, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, etc. Now that the era of shallow linear FPSs is finally over its getting only better and better. The only thing that I play on my PC are RTSs (well... Starcraft 2) and DotA.
Very generalized question, tens of millions "PC gamers" don't play anything but Facebook, and many millions more only play WoW.
The ones that play everything are intense about the machine rather than the games.
Console gamers don't care about the machine, they only care about the games.
Look at this site, it'a always "hey look at this screenshot, look at this resolution."
When is the last time a PC gamer poster about a cool game they played. I haven't seen it happen.
Console gamers all the time are like "I just played XYZ and it was so good."
PC gamers are like "this is my rig, look at the screenshot."
I would say in a way most PC gamers aren't even gamers, they're PC enthusiasts.

lol. You really believe that? You're saying that PC gamers are more obsessed about hardware and graphics than games yet there are millions who play minecraft, Counter strike, Terraria, LoL/HoN, strategy games.
You say PC gamers do not have a passion for games yet they are the only one who made gaming an esport.
Why do you even make an attempt to voice your opinion in a thread like this when you obviously have no clue what you're talking about?Very generalized question, tens of millions "PC gamers" don't play anything but Facebook, and many millions more only play WoW.

I see your dreamhack and i raise you with the gathering
Apparently those are 360's and Ps3's in disquise :P
The differnce bewteen me (Pc) and my friends (consoles), is I will put the extra effort into my box to obtain better perfromance out of games because it makes me enjoy the game more. My friends are content with games like Batman at 30 FPS and 720p. I like the fact that I can play the same game, with (much?) better visuals, smoother framerate, and choice of controllers. It's worth it to me. My friends even admit that playing games on my rig look and perform much better then the consoles, but the differnece isn't worth the effort to them. That's okay with me.

Your friends play games.
You play "who has better hardware."
And that's ok, really, just a different culture and different hobby.

No, I'd say I play much much more games then any of my friends. I also own all the consoles this gen. Just given the choice, I'd rather play the same games with much better performance. I'm sure there are some hardware first types of PC gamers, but with the 1 TB of games installed on my rig right now, and the 60 or so console games lying around my house I'd say I'm games first without doubt.
That being said of course I like hardware. Nothing wrong with that. It's what I need to get more from my games. Again though it's all about games. Games. :)

Ok..
So PC GAMER interviews PC DEVS about PC Gamers Vs. Console Gamers... = :|
There is a thin line between the two... There are those that will put 100+ hrs into Modern Warfare/Skyrim/Uncharted 3/Gears 3 ect.. Sure console gamers don't have the modding community. However I believe that will come in the next gen as we already have indie games..

Modding is the result of the open platform that PC is. Consoles will never be like that. Hell that's the reason why many people like consoles, because of their controlled and closed environment.
So many pirates in one place !
