OK. For some reason I decided to get the PS3 version of AC. It has horrible screen tearing and there's a topic on Ubisofts forums about 30 pages long of people saying AC is locking up their PS3. It hasn't locked up my PS3 yet but I'm only a few hours in. Does the 360 version suffer from really bad screen tearing and lock-ups too? I'm thinking about returning the PS3 version and getting the 360 version instead. Thanks. x-2tha-z
From what I've heard from my mate theres no screen tearing or lock-ups on 360
I would return it if I were you
not 100% sure but i believe its when the view moves from left to right or vice versa the entire image does not move simultaneously. so you'll get a top & bottom part moving out-of-sync- the image looks like it has a 'tear' through the middle.CwlHeddwyn
that is a reasonable working definition that everyone can relate to.
On the official Ubi assasins forum most of the complaints seem to come from people playing the pS3 version.
One poster said that not loging into PSN made the game run better, but others said it didn't. so I'm not sure but you could give that a try.
I have the 360 version and whileI have experienced glitches, getting stuck in scenery and one whereI fell into a void and unlocked an achievment that I had no chance of having gotten yet. But I haven't had any freezing and finished the game with relatively little problems.
[QUOTE="i-lick-monkeys"]i have hqad a few problems with the 360 versionx-2tha-zDoes it have screen tearing? Please answer. No-one who owns the 360 version has answered that question yet. I have not experienced screen tearing
I'm going to hold off buying AC untill all of these problems are fixed for the PS3.
/me goes back to NGS and keenly awaits the release of Uncharted.

These videos where taken from a 360 version of AC. Now tell me...is your PS3 copy that bad??
I think you made the right choice!!
Edit: The second video is from a PS3 version but the first is far wors!!
No screen tearing or anything on 360 versian, and gametrailers shows it has better graphics too.
I've only played about 3 hours worth over my friends though so IDK.
The PS3 dev tools are really hard to use, so it doesnt suprise me so much.
Kinda screws up the whole "PS3 pwns 360 hardware side" though doesn't it.

dunno about u but my version works great and no other reviewer that i know of (including GS) has said anything about screen tearing...so maybe its just your copy?
dood seriously...both versions are glitched andhave been blown wayyyy out of proportion by SW arguments.
the sad part here is that you came into system wars expecting a non biased honest answer. im sorry, not calling you stupid, but if you think anyone in SW is going to answer your question truthfully so you can make an educated purchase.....well have fun with that!
the real honesty, is that both versions have small graphical issues, but they are really minimal. ive played both. and youd have to be a SW creep to think either version isnt worth enjoying. enjoy your PS3 version becasue i promise you it runs the same as the 360 version, because i own both. i have 3 roommates and we all own each system and many games for it. and yes ive had a ton of hands on time with AC for 360 and i prefer it fo the PS3...i think it actually has a better framerate....by a tiny tiny bit. almost unoticable.

I think you're a fanboy. And seriously, did you read the site? The second one was from the PS3 versian. See how the site labeled that as the "Serious stuff" not just a random glitch? I just had a good LOL at you.

I did say that the second video is from the PS3 version....read above. Also the 360 has far bigger problems than the PS3 version! And as far as freezing up goes....you 360 owners have no ground to stand on. Thousands of RROD. So that's a small problem that they show on the PS3 version. But the 360 one is horrible.
PS: it's spelled versION not versIAN !:D
Nope, ps3 version seems to be the most buggy.OGTiago
Dude....I've been reading your posts for a while and you are the biggest fanboy out of any single user on this site. You'r like if I tell you that the sky is blue you'll say it's red just because you hate the sky!!
You have no credibility what so ever!
Are you saying there are fanboys in here who love the 360 so much that they'll lie and say the 360 version doesn't have screen tearing just so it makes people think the 360 version is better? That's sad if true. I'm asking for help here. Unfortunately system wars is the place to ask this question. Anything that is about comparing different consoles goes here and only here.dood seriously...both versions are glitched andhave been blown wayyyy out of proportion by SW arguments.

There are so blind 360 fanboys here they will say that yes! They don't want to belive that a game could actually be better on the PS3. There are games that are better on the PS3! 360 fanboys won't ever admit it!! They will nitpick the game to death and as soon as they find something small...the smallest thing...they will blow it out of the water!
oh hey just thought id mention...most times screen tearing has more to do with your HDTV than it does with your game and system. i have experienced no tearing at all with my PS3 copy of AC. but i also researched my tv before i bought it.EscobahrSorry, not calling you stupid, but screen tearing occurs when devs don't include v-sync. No v-sync means better frame rate. It has nothing to do with your tv but I also do research on a topic before I speak about it.
Just completed the game literally half an hour ago on the 360. Start to finnish, no problems at all.
When I say completed, I mean done the main story and got the credits and whats after (wait until after the credits). But I havnt got all the flags or killed all the templars etc.

You are right!! I'm a consumer not an employee! But!! I'm defending the PS3 agains the 360. TC you said that you regret getting the PS3 version and the 360 version is better....well it's clearly wors.....way wors!!
That's all....I'm just sick of seeing the PS3 being bashed all the time!! It's a great machine and has loads of games!

Well your TV can do a lot for your games. I recomend the Sony Bravia 1080P for everyone. I have that TV and I have sharpness all the way up when I play my PS3 ....I have Colours almost all the way up. Everything looks beautifull! Nothing looks washed out or colourless.
And it also depends on the cable...are you useing HDMI?
But yea...TV count's. It's very important to have the right TV!
.well it's clearly wors.....way wors!!
NathanDrake
in what way??..i just keep reading about PS3 's freezing and framerate problems...
i agree on this: "It's a great machine and has loads of games".. but this is not about the machine, it's about the game on the disc...

yes, nothing wrong with my set up. actually.. it IS in the game. developrs take it for granted for a big part, cause for them it serves as a small buffer and the screen tearing is only noticed by people that know what screen tearing is. it's either THAT or framerate drop in most cases...
I am about 1/2 way done with AC on the 360. I have experienced no frame rate issues, screen tearing, or lockups.
As far as which version is better... Judging graphics is highly opinion based, usually influenced by those ever so present fanboy goggles. However, hardware issues are a cold hard fact of the ps3 version. It is a fact that the PS3 version has frame rate issues, screen tearing, and lockup problems while the 360 version does not.

do you also read other reviews?... cause it lookes like you just want to read the positive parts... sorry, not to bash. Again, this is about the game disc,.. not the PS3...
And why do you want to bash other systems... you are just as worse...
