At least Wii has the Best Download service

So before everyone goes "McCarthy" on me for enjoying some things about the Wii I will start: I have a Gaming PC, PS3 and a Wii. I play the WII the least!

Anyways! The one really good reason to buy the Wii, for me at least is the Wiiware/Virtual Console.

They have so many good games out for Virtual Console and some Gems for Wiiware as well:

Its actually pretty funny comparing the actual Wii Game ratings to the Virtual Console/Wiiware ratings.

World of Goo and Lost Winds are examples of Excellent well though out Downloadable games. Not to mention the Massive amount of Genesis, NES, SNES, N64, TGfx 16, NeoGo and Master console titles!

Yes you can get many VC games on your computer (illegally) but not everyone wants to do that. Add in the fact that a sideways Wiimote works great as an Old NES pad and I think you see my points.

For old school gamers (not just kid gamers) the Wii is a GREAT option. For me the VC and WiiWare Saves it as I think the system is flooded with garbage (although obvioulsy there are some great games).

And you make the rules? I think they very much count. I don't have an NES, SNES, Genesis, etc..etc.. And I'd rather not play Roms on my PC in my office.

The virtual console is great. I actually wish they just released a stand alone 10 GB "console" purely for downloading games so they could concentrate on getting even more VC classics out there. There are alot of good NES/SNES/N64 games we'll never see because of licensing issues I'm sure. It's unfortunate.carljohnson3456

If there was a sweet extended hardware solution that you could play games off of I'd buy a Ton of VC games. I have a bunch already but I'd buy more. Luckily though a 2GB SD card is dirt cheap these days and transferring back and forth is pretty easy although not 100% doable.

No what you were saying is they are old and you don't need a wii to play them. your new point makes more sense.

I don't think though that they are that overpriced although I would agree that some NES games should be a 1 Dollar. WiiWare has pretty sweet games on it though.

And the sad thing is, Sheep kiddies hit out at gamers for using games that are on PS3/360/PC yet its all okay to use previous gen emulations. I have a Wii, and while I agree those things offer some good content...I don't think you can call a download service that doesn't offer demos, game videos, backgrounds/themes or even more Mii clothing options/upgrades the "best" service.ZIMdoom

this is correct. Wii's online does nothing better than sony's and microsofts. The only reason their retro collection is better is because they have 2 generations on Sony and three generations on Microsoft......and all of those games could fit on a cartridge.

First you said you have the games on your PC, now you say you have them purchased. Since all the old console ROMs were never released legally on PC, you've either got yourself a ROM chop shop, or you're just blowing smoke.

But, WiiWare DOES get brand new, original titles. World of Goo, even though it's also for PC, is a new experience for console gamers. LostWinds, another new IP only on WiiWare.

You're trying so hard to prove that your favorite console is superior, when really, it doesn't matter. As long as you have fun with your console, I have fun with mine, and everyone else has fun with their's, then that's all that matters. I said it was original for "console gamers", not including PC gamers. And hey, I have no problem with multiplatform games.
