At What Point Did Sony Become A 'Me-Too' Company

sony kind of always had an air about them, like they were a forward-thinking company. the type that drives the industry in a new direction, trailblazing their own path..but this gen they've really become a me-too company, with their fumbled attempts aping the wii-mote and now the DS with PSvita, the smash bros wannabe, etc. Looking back, i guess they never really were that innovative, but they made you think they were. what happened to their confidence? 'next-gen doesn't start until we say it does!'

they owned the 2 previous generations and they fumbled this gen and now they always been horrible? okay then

Sony's owned the past 3 gens with the best line up of exclusives. It is common for non Sony console owners to slowly become disillusioned with time. Copious amounts of jelly tends to do that. :cool:

Why cause they have Move and they just made a Smash Bros game? Look at the rest of what they've done this gen. They havent exactly played it safe. Look at all the new IPs: Resistance, Uncharted, Infamous, Valkyria Chronicles, Motorstorm, MAG, Heavy Rain, Mod Nation Racers, Little Big Planet, Last of Us, Starhawk, Heavenly Sword...on and on. This thread calls out Sony, but it should call out the industry. This thread also is overlooking a great many interesting retail games for some reason (LBP, Heavy Rain, etc.).

As gamers we should celebrate. If people like SSB, then hey, more SSB games on the way. If it sux, don't buy it, and buy keep waiting for the SSB games. They take forever to release, so I don't mind trying out new games. :P

Also, there was an interesting video about this topic a few weeks ago, I may dig it up and place it HERE (Nintendo Innovates? A look throughout gaming history starts to get interesting at 2 : 28).

Yeah I actually had a disc cleaner just for my 360. A friend decided to be a jerk and pick it up while I was playing Gears 2 and it wouldn't start, so thank god for that disc cleaner. I mean if you NEVER move your 360 while a game is in there then you should be fine, but it is a legitimate problem, and even on SW its hard to deny something everyone else has a problem with just by saying "oh its never happened to me, personally".

oh now you see, i'm glad that caught your attention, if you even barely nudge your 360 its going to scratch your disc, like i said it happened to my roommate, he bumped it with his foot and now his 2k12 is unplayable. So you can go pretending like the 360 doesn't have problems. I can move my ps3 over while there is a disc inside and its going to be fine same for the wii, but if you accidently bump into your 360 then hope you have another 60 bucks to go out and rebuy the game.
