So now 360/ps3 games are pretty much 70-80$ here in Canada with tax and all that, for me its pretty much borderline now, I will only get games I am really hyping. Big titles like FF13, etc. But when will you stop buying games all together, or at least buy very very little?

I think the big theme next gen should not be hardware improvement, and should be cost reduction. Nintendo already saw this coming and stood back and let the Wii be cheaper than the rest, and its payed off big time.

Discuss =D

Depends. I'd pay $100 for games like BP or UC2 but I'd only pay $60 for games like Killone 2 or Red Faction: Guirilla.

It really depends on if my responsibilities are taken care of and how much free time and money I have afterwords.

I'm not buying Modern Warfare 2 on PC because Activision thinks that it is worth 60. When they lower it to 50 I will buy it, but no sooner.

Excluding special editions, $60 USD is the highest I'll go for console games, $50 for PC (since a $50 PC game is technically the same as a $60 console game, due to licensing fees).

I hardly buy new games at $60 right now, I usually look for sales or deals that comes with gift cards and such, but if they raised the standard price to $70 it might make me think twice about this hobby.

There are only a handful of games in my collection that I've paid 60$ for. I think most developers are shooting themselves in the foot charging so much out the gate when they could probably have far more sales charging a bit less than everybody else.

It matters what game it is, I already pay up to ¥70,000-90,000 for a eroge, I just have to think the game is worth it.

If they go up any higher, I'm selling my consoles for crack.

I would never play a video game again.

So true, I dont have many games ive payed 60$ or more for. Some competitive pricing is what the games need, & that why all developers need to stand back and figure out ways to charge less, I think 40$ is a good price for games. Especially now adays when times arent as good and most games are able to be beat in a few days.

Any price over $50, unless i really want the game. I paid over 50 for Bioshock special edition because i wanted it badly, but if there is a game that is just "meh", like borderlands or MW2, then i won't buy it, even if both of those were $50

Same here lol, well the part about not buying a next gen system =P. But yeah and then the company's wonder why people pirate. Charging 70$ for a mediocre product that lasts only a few days, its practically begging to be pirated.

$45 and that's mostly on rare occasions. I think the most I've actually paid for a game is $55 for Halo 2 at launch. Technically I'm paying $65 for MW2, but I'm getting a $20 off a future amazon purchase.

I"m already not buying games. Literally I ask for hand-outs...seriously. It helps since I deal with a game distributor and have connections directly with all game developers. But I can't think of a game that is worth more than $40....seriously. The last game I bought was like FFVII I think lol.

If the price gets any higher than sixty bucks then I might just get all my games used or wait for a price drop from there on out! As of right now I ocassionaly get new games, but for the most part it is pretty much used games at this point.

I refuse to go over 90 dollars for a game, personally I thin kthat 60 bucks is quite ridiculous as well. Id lke games to go back to there old prices of 30-40 dollars.

I NEVER pay over $50 bucks for a game and even then it has to be something great before I fork out that much. I usually spend in the $20-30 range after games have gone down in price or I get trade in value or a used copy in nice condition.

50 is the highest I will go. I don't buy new 360 games for this reason. No game is worth over 50 to me unless it has something extra to it (Guitar hero and it's guitar for example).

$50. I've got like 20 games and I only paid more than $50 for about 5 of them. If games went up in price i'd just buy less and less of them. The more prices go up, the less i'm willing to take a chance on a game that isn't 100% up my alley. If games go up to $70 then the only games i'll ever even consider buying at full retail price are Bio-Ware games (i've thoroughly enjoyed every game of theirs that i've played) and sequels to games that I absolutely love.

i voted for at any price, because even if it does become ridiculously expensive, atleast we were savour and appreciate the game more. And i would probably stop buying games when they started throwing in jars of anthrax with every purchase.

Probably all depends on the value of the dollar and what shape our economy is in when they bump up the price. I'd probably only buy a select few games if they were $70-80 right now. But if they were that much in say, 10 years. I doubt it'd bother me much. Since it probably wouldn't be that much of a change taking inflation into account.

I've only bought about 3-5 games for $30+ out of my 70+ games(ps2). There's just no reason to buy games at full price when you can wait a few weaks for about a $20 discount, or wait a few months for the game to drop significantly. There are tons of dealsduring the Black Friday sale and MW2 Deals even at launch to get giftcards from various stores.I know some people don't like waiting, but you shouldn't complain about the game prices if you have no patience. I've never bought a game over $40 unless you count those Nintendo64 games when I had no idea they costed so much, and when I have it wasn't really worth it.
