Alone in the dark looks amazing . I would've preferred it to be like canceled project from few years ago (watched its pre alpha footage) but this also looks great . Hopefully we'll be able to fight back and ammo will be hard to find .
no dev in their right mind would make AAA games exclusive to PC. These are probably some small and costly efficient projects. Either that or F2P which is the only thing that makes money on PC.
Nice opinion there, but still Atari decided to bet on PC this gen

Alone in the Dark info .
• Four Heroes - The Hunter, the Witch, the Priest and the Engineer each offer unique gameplay experiences with distinctive weapons, skills and powers.
• Multiplayer - Cooperative multiplayer modes let you battle The Darkness with all four characters, or build smaller teams for a greater challenge.
• Diverse environments - Four “campaigns” with multiple levels take players through the blasted landscape of Lorwich, and deep below to unearth the mysteries of this forsaken township.
• The power of Illumination - Light up maps to create safe zones and damage your foes.
• Inspired By H.P. Lovecraft - Inspired by HP Lovecraft, Alone in the Dark: Illumination puts you in constant danger by coming face to face with demons of the underworld. As a player, you must survive the relentless onslaught of the Forces of Darkness, and the evil that lurks in its path.
• Dynamic Environments - Interact with a dynamic environment to change the structure of the map and advance your quest.
• Achievements and Bonuses - Track your progress and stats with Steam Achievements and Trading Cards
• Powered by Unreal engine 4 - Unprecedented Visual Fidelity using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), delivers a unique layer of intrigue and story within the game’s environments.
The Hunter - As a direct descendant of Edward Carnby, a hero of the original Alone in the Dark, the Hunter grew up enthralled by the adventures of the “Supernatural Private Eye.” He knew every detail of every case, including the notes of the strange creatures encountered. His grandfather was his mentor and as such the Hunter vowed that he too would help rid the world of the evil Darkness.
Primary Weapons and Abilities: AK47, M4, P90, Flamethrower.
• The Witch - The Witch is the great-granddaughter of Emily Hartwood, the heroine of the original Alone in the Dark. After her various other-worldly encounters with Edward Carnby, Emily Hartwood began to dabble in the supernatural world. But unlike other occult practitioners she met, Emily learned only what she needed to protect herself. Her great-granddaughter, the Witch, followed in her footsteps and also studied the supernatural arts. From a young age, the Witch had a natural gift for magic, and her abilities far surpassed those of her other family members. The Witch swore to use her abilities to help others, and help protect the world from evil forces, such as those that terrorized her family.
Primary Weapons and Abilities: Colt, Lightning Strike, Creature Control, Lightning Crawler.
• The Engineer - The daughter of the Chief Engineer of the world’s leading computer hardware manufacturer, the Engineer was born to work with electronics. While other children played with plastic blocks, she was making remote-controlled robots from parts she found in her father’s work shed. Making gadgets filled up the Engineer’s free time. Her goal is to create mechanical items which could rival her father’s groundbreaking work.
Primary Weapons and Abilities: Beretta, Pump Shotgun, The Tesla, Comet
• The Priest - The son of the nation’s most influential religious leaders, the Priest trained from a young age to combat the forces of darkness. With his enhanced abilities to heal and purify even the most extreme cases, the Priest has become a leading warrior in the never-ending battle against the darkness.
Primary Weapons and Abilities: Heaven and Hell, The Lord’s Blinding Light, Cleansing of the Sinners, The Binding Word.
I would love to see Atari establish it's place again in the industry, but I don't think reboots and remakes are they way to do it. While I agree that Haunted House and Alone In The Dark were two of the better games of their time, I can't help but feel that perhaps this is all Atari has going for themselves at the moment.
oh muh gud muh flashlight is having pwoblem I look up and RWAA MONSTAH OUTTA NOWHERE
Color me surprised.
I was excited until I saw that both games look like cheap indie games :/
Same. I can't stomach more indie flashlight horror shit.
AITD is not an Amnesia like game where you can't fight back . There are four classes you can choose from and there will co-op as well . However it won't be action game where you'll kill lot of demons . It is survival horror game so ammo will be scarce like RE 2 .

I guess every RTS game ever made, every D&D RPG ever made, every 4X strategy ever made, The WItcher 1,2, Far Cry 1 and Half-Life 1 don't exist ?
And The Witcher 2 was ported AFTER the success of the PC version.
Haunted House looks right up my alley. Is that supposed to use UE4 too? Alone in the dark...well I think they pretty much ruined the name at this point and using UE4 doesn't make it a AAA game but ultimately it comes down to the team developing it but that title hasn't been good since part 2 imo.

Outlast was really good. Once upon a sleep was interesting. Indie games doesn't mean it can't be well made and games like MetroLL show that low budget doesn't mean much no more so than Polygonal spending $80 million for GT5 for example.
3rd person? ..I'm out. Although some peeps may want to know that Atari is also releasing a new Roller Coaster Tycoon game next year.
@Gue1: Looks at resident evil 6 and dead space 3.......face it, consoles are dudebro machines that ruin great games in order to be generic action shooters. Pc does not.
Although i dobut they are AAA budget wise. Which is a good thing AAA budget is too much and a waste of money.

now that is actually good news...

Blizzard, Feraxis, Sega, Epic, Creative Assembly, Carbine, Arenanet, and Chris Roberts don't exist?
Outlast was really good. Once upon a sleep was interesting. Indie games doesn't mean it can't be well made
Outlast is terrible and Among the Sleep is an hour long. I never said indie games can't be good. I said I'm sick of indie flashlight horror shit. It's overdone to hell and almost never good. I also hate the first person perspective.
Don't be fooled by teaser trailer . This is NOT first person game . It is third person shooter/survival horror game .
I sincerely doubt this is survival horror, but I'm glad to see it's third person.
@Lulu_Lulu: The coop dudebro pew pew cover based gameplay.
I liked re 6 because i set it on easy and played it like a shooter with truckloads of ammo. I liked how the campaigns had memorable moments and variety.
But its nor a resident evil game. Evil within looks more like it.

You hate first person games, yet you say Outlast was terrible...no wonder you didn't like it genius but doesn't make it a bad game, actually it was very good for the price and very scary...but you have to like first person of course. The really odd part here is why did you supposedly play Outlast if it's first person? I mean you said it was terrible so obviously you played it right? Your opinion lost all validity.
@pimphand_gamer: "You hate first person games"
I hate the perspective. There are some first person games that I like.
"yet you say Outlast was terrible...no wonder you didn't like it genius but doesn't make it a bad game"
It's a bad game because it isn't scary, the gameplay is terrible, the atmosphere and constant jump scares are hamfisted as shit, the enemy AI and animations are terrible, the protagonist is nonsensically stupid, and the story is terrible.
"The really odd part here is why did you supposedly play Outlast if it's first person?
Because it's a horror game.
"Your opinion lost all validity."
I'm really tired of this lazy, fucking stupid cop-out response.
So a 3rd person horror game and another Amnesia/Outbreak type game.
Awesome...never seen those before.
Should be about as exciting as anything on console.
