Chip maker AMD has invested heavily into hyperbole research, proudly proclaiming that its new graphics chip, the RV770, is "more powerful than every generation of video game console ever brought to market combined." The RV770, demoed Monday, is capable of processing one trillion floating operations per second on a single chip, a feat that AMD says "punches a sizeable hole in the sensory barrier."

Consoles are so far behind PC, its not even funny.

2009 will be the year where PC owns so hard like it did from the 90's to year 2006.

Dev's will see the light and come back to PC with big games

I keep feeling like putting off my new PC purchase when I hear about stuff like this. It's always "just wait a little longer, new graphics chips will come out and current cards will get cheaper..."

I think I'll invest this Christmas. I can't keep going on with my Radeon 9800 Pro.

I can't see myself bothering with that. I still only have one game to justify my current card (8800 Ultra)! I know you can get some mult-plats with slightly improved graphics, but I generally prefer playing my consoles and games exclusive to consoles anyway.

That looks like pre-rendered BS, from what i saw in the video, everything behaved like it was pre-made, not like a rendered game at all. ATI must be getting pretty desperate to make claims like that, they don't have to BS their way in, just make better drivers for the video cards...velocity99
