Atlus' trippy erotic horror Catherine is Japan-only for now.

Ever since we first heard about the "adult-oriented" Catherine from Atlus' Persona team, there has been one consistent refrain from those of us on the other side of the Pacific: Will a game like this ever come out here? Would Catherine's mature themes about sexuality and relationships fly in a society concerned primarily with the welfare of the children?

I wouldn't be surprised if it never did show up. Catherine doesn't seem too Western friendly.

It doesn't bother me at all. Catherine doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Typical PR speak. Atlus will announce Catherine for the West on their own terms, not when some random site asks them.

It will come, why would they have a 360 version if they had no plans?

Damn it.

That means an even lower chance I'll see a PAL version.

And Atlus only ever makes like 5 copies of their game.

Oh society, you crack me up. Better get away from all that natural sexuality and start sawing off people's heads instead.

Not surprising if it doesn't, but honestly, what very little interest I had in it before immediately dwindled to nothing after seeing it's gameplay.

Thats a shame, I thought the game looked somewhat intresting after seeing the giantbomb quicklook.

Meh, we've heard companies say they have no plans to bring games over, but they end up doing so eventually. Heck, if Namco is bringing over a Tales game I'll still hold out hope for Catherine to come to the West.

Just like there are no plans for a 3DS Lite.

I think this is a smart decision. The gameplay wouldn't sell well.

They're just saying that to generate more hype methinks.

Kind of odd that they would waste the resources for a 360 version if they ahve no plans releasing the game overseas.

Who would want to play that game anyway? All we need is tons of military shooters each year

Well,from what I´ve seen of the gameplay I wasn´t interested at all anyway,at first i though it was a JRPG and then I saw it´s just a vertical platformer with some problem solving... :( The citscenes and the story may be interesting but to me the core gameplay isn´t.

It´s a shame though,many were wanting to see a western release,wich I honestly think that,since the game is also on the 360,may happen eventually.

I need me some more puzzle games and Catherine looked like the perfect fit.
