Dont' even try. Ya, the PC is an easy platform to manage, but there are also a ton of little issues that are bound to pop up that you just don't need to deal with on a console. I don't get to spend as much time gaming as I used too and I don't want to spend even ten minutes correcting some minor issue.

The reality is a lot of gamers could care less about raw power anymore. I could care less about more resolution and detailed textures. I need to replace my gaming rig, and I had the money, but I just did not, and still don't, feel like it.

PC gaming is not what it used to be. I can get plenty of thrills and chills on a console in a much more relaxed manner.

It is about games and not tech for me.

What I hate are all the things that can go wrong that had nothing to do with gaming but will effect your game-play. I will never have to take time out of my day to clear and sweep my console for spy ware and crap like that. You get some of that crap on your PC and it can trash performance.

I even got a trojan from an Oblivion mod, from a reputable sight. It is just a pain in the ass in my book. The only thing PC's are good for are MMO's and I don't want to play MMO's for a long, long time.

It is good enough for me, that's for sure. If I felt I had the time I would still PC game, sure. But the ps3 and 360 have enough room left to grow, and enough games left unmade, I will be a happy camper longer then it takes for the new consoles to come out.

If there never is another console generation I will play PC games, but I would not consider myself a gamer anymore. Just some who plays the occasional strategy game.

This is the worst response I have ever recieved to a post. I care what they had to say about console games? More rehashed game-play? Starcraft 2 and Diablo won't rehash any game-play. Another resource collecting RTS? How about another WoW clone? Wait I got it, nobody has ever done a sci-fi shooter or modern day shooter!

How about another god game or civilization game?

Consoles are churning out great games I am happy with and I will never have the time to play half of them.

I just hate the power argument and I think PC gamers have enough ammo with their games they don't even need it. There are still a LOT of PC exclusives that are awesome (company of heroes best RTS ever? YES!) and game-play that you can not get any place else (M&K for my ps3? I will pass, thanks).

The things is there are a ton of console games I love and not enough time in the day for even those, you get the picture.

Hermits, just stick to the true strength of the PC platform and leave this power thing behind. I stress some Hermits because obviously not all feel that way, some are like the above hermit.

Well said. Not long ago I started a thread asking what's the second best looking game around. Pretty much every game considered for this merit was a console game. In that thread I drew the conclusion that pc gaming and console gaming aren't as far apart as many people (hermits) make it out to be. But you know, hermits will be hermits. They're always a tad arrogant about their system. Guess it's tehir way of justifying the purchase of a $1000 machine to play games with while many people enjoy playing games that are equal if not better (gameplay wise) on cheaper machines (i.e. consoles).

I'll admit that when it comes to the resolutions and textures,PC have consoles beat because of the console's measly 512mb of ram.But I still maintain that some of the animations,lighting and particle effects in the Likes of Killzone 2 are as good as anything I've sen on a PC,and in that way they're at least comparable.

I mean I look at someting like Stalker Clear Skies,and it really doesn't look that much better than say,Resident Evil 5,KZ2 etc(apart from the obvious differences in resolution and textures)

if you think comparable means rendering a game at 1/8th the capacity of a PC GPU output and upscaling it to fit an HDTV then i'd agree. but the fact of the matter is the PS3 can't come close to the visual fidelity and quality of PC.
