Well, you've only got one group of people to blame: lazy developers.

The only thing that makes me feel the Wii is stronger than the Xbox was the cold, hard, numbers...

Once again proving that numbers are meaningless when only Nintendo and a select few developers can take advantage of it...

If only Factor 5 made a game for the Wii... if only... They said they could do worlds better than before...

No its not, thats not it at all. PS3 and Xbox360 are both next gen. So asking why the PS3 isnt better then the 360 yet you could use the argument, but the Xbox is 'last gen' and the wii is 'new gen' so the wii, if not as good as the 360 and ps3, should at leastbe better then the old Xbox.

But devs have had the hardware for over 6 years, you know when the gamecube came out in 2001.

That's stupid though, PC hardware is always different and always changing, so they don't even get to have the hardware for 6 months, then they have to make it work better on a new set of technology.

Whereas other consoles graphics are sort of like a paint by number, the Wii and Gamecube are like a blank piece of paper. Chances are, it's going to be a lot worse, but if someone who really knows what they're doing, and makes an effort, decides to see what he can do, the result will be awe inspiring.

I think it used HDR. (Yes, Xbox 1 can do HDR. Half-Life 2 used it). The lighitng in Conker was amazing. The animations on the characters were great, too.

Metroid Prime 3 looks much better than Doom3 and Riddick I believe. The new videos of SMG show it looks better than any xbox game (I have one BTW).Metroid_Time

This isn't about art style. This is about the technical limits of each system. We will never see a Wii game that looks anything like Riddick. It does not have the hardware to compete with Xbox 1.

Why do people use the best looking games on the xbox and expect all the Wii games to match it? What about the bad looking xbox games? The Wii has plenty of pretty games coming up this fall, so I don't really see the issue, and quite frankly, I don't really care if my Wii games look marginally better to be on par with the xbox just for a few comparison thread's sake.linarite

Why should it matter if people use the best games from a console thats 6 years old. It shouldn't be an issue but it is. Good job nintendo for sucking this gen.

If your Wii looks bad on that TV than your progressive scan DVD player must look bad on it too :roll:

The quality of a TV's scaler makes a huge difference in terms of image quality, so either your playing games with really bad graphics or your TV just has a poor scaler.

Some here fail to see that the Wii has hardly been out for a year, it hasn't had time to show it's real potential, as has the PS3, it's far too early to call the shots on who's better.

Its because the wii is new hardware and it hasn't been fully optimised yet, Games like Splinter cell chaos theory and conker (which both still look very impressive) are pushing the xbox as far as it can go, so its basically a fully optimised game that uses as much of the xboxs power as possible, this isn't to say that there will be games on the wii that look as good as these but its not just about the hardware, its about how well optimised it can be. Kinda like the ps3, it has the cell which has alot of potential and the new type of ram (forgot what its called) that runs at 3.2GHz which is alot faster than the DDR2 ram used in the 360, but that doesn't mean that games will look better on the ps3, its likely that the cell will never be used to its full advantage in the ps3,and all the other technology that is new to developers just makes it harder to make better looking games. And also scares off developers from developing games no that system.......and lets not forget bad ports.

Yep, when i first got the game i couldn't believe how good it looked, same with splinter cell chaos theory, that had to be one of my favorite games last gen.

If you told me riddick, splinter cell and farcry were 360 games I wouldn't question it.

Because sadly most developers so far would rather make a cheap cash in then try hard to make a decent game.:(

Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 look on par/slightly beter then XBOX 1 games though :),so there's hope for the future.
