Wi-fi is removed
This topic is locked from further discussion.
None of my DS friends live near enough me :(. And my roommate only plays WoW again. I got him off it for like a hot second. It will still sell insanely.
And it still has multiplayer.Â

Level 5 is on junk. What were they thinking when they decided to move the series over to a handheld, let alone the DS?:|
Nevermind I just remembered, DA MONEY. Pathetic.

I'm just lucky that my wife loves games and I have someone to play with.
Did the other Dragon Quests have Wi-fi? Why would this effect this one? Wi-fi's just an added bonus, the game is what is important.1_Blood
Maybe people were hoping to have a Diabloesqe experience with their DS? Maybe people wanted to play with their friends over the net and kill monsters together? Online is not just an added feature, it can pretty much extend the play time of a game from 20 to 30 hours to hundreds.
Online play pretty much meant a purchase for me and now I have no reason to get it. Meh.
Doesn't bother me cause I don't know anyone close enough to us Wi-Fi, besides the game is now turn-based so thats good imo.Ragnarok1051Umm, the wireless still works, so you still don't have anyone close enough to play with.
Before, you would actually have been able to go online and play with people across the world.

How the hell could you be a Final Fantasy fan and diss Level 5 with being obsessed with money. :|

As for this topic, it's sort of a let down, but they probably took it off due to lag. Idc though I'm buying this at launch anyway. Good thing I live in America and not in Japan, because otherwise it would be impossible to get this game. :)

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Enix. :)

EDIT: I really don't understand why online is so important to gamers around here.

Just because it's on a handheld doesn't mean it will be vastly inferior to its console predecessors. And besides, this is Level 5 -- arguably the best, most refreshing JRPG developer in years -- who we're talking about. They always know what they're doing, as Dragon Quest VIII and Dark Cloud proved.

Agreed it's been prooven that the DS versions of game can be superior to the console versions *Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Sonic Rush anyone?*
I just don't understand why gamers think just because a game has worse graphics downplays the gameplay.

Final Fantasy III (and the recently announced IV remake) also show that DS games can be very captivating, so long as they have a good story as well. I suspect DQ IX will be well written.

Im not saying Square is any better. Recently im just loving FFXII and looking forward to Crisis Core, whenever they get around to releasing it in the US sometime in 2008:roll: As far as them charging $60 for a duo of GBA ports, (FFI&2)Â remaking Tactics, 3,4 and every other FF under the sun, believe me im not impressed. How the hell could you be a Final Fantasy fan and diss Level 5 with being obsessed with money. :|

Dragon Quest IX is suppose to be innovating and changing the series, also Enix has been experimenting the franchise with Dragon Quest Monsters Joker and Slime Nights. Final Fantasy has just been shovel-ware and remakes lately with FFXII *personally hated it I don't know what they were thinking with that combat system* being the only exception.

Pathetic because you dont own one?

Yeah or maybe the good developers are figuring out which systems are worth developing for. And moving away from Sony.Â

Well if you were a Japanese dev, and you wanted to sell a game that is ridiculously insanely popular in Japan, and practically everyone in Japan owns a DS, what system would you make it on?Level 5 is on junk.
