Im not saying the vehicle stuff wont be good, im just saying its not what I wanted out of a Banjo game.web966

What you want in a Banjo game is something you experienced as a kid 10 years ago. It is something that you experienced when 3d was new to gaming. Something like that would never impress you now that you are an adult and it wouldn't be very good nowadays when games have changed so much. I wouldn't mind the same ol Banjo, but the platformer genre is dead with a couple of exceptions....nobody else is really trying anymore to be honest.

[QUOTE="Ilived"]Watching that video, I must ask why is Kazooie in the game?bobbetybob

I went one step further in another thread, why is Banjo in the game? Could they not have just made a new franchise? Using Banjo in a vehicle/minichallenge/shooting games is going to really piss off a lot of the old fans of Banjo who were hoping for 360's first real platformer.

It is a platformer, there's platforming in the video and the previews said it will have traditional platforming.

I get it though, they should just rehash game design from 1998 ? That's why platformers are where they are right now, too much sameness and not enough change.

No platformers are where they are because suddenly game developers became unoriginal and tried to keep up with the changes in the game market by making dull platform hybrids. Mario Galaxy proves you can still make an amazing platformer without putting weapons in it. People won't get bored of the game if you use some originality and make the puzzles fun and different, rather than making the game 25% platforming and the rest shooting, racing, etc like in Ratchet and Clank. Not that those games are bad, played my first one yesterday and it's really fun, but it feels nothing like a platformer.

what weapons do you see. Weapons isn't the focus of the game nor is blowing stuff up. Also until you play this game you have no idea on how it doesn't feel like a platformer.

Wow, that looks fantastic.

And yeah, from what I've read, there will still be platforming elements, so it seems to me as though Rare is going in the right direction with this.
