Honestly, this is Nintendo's first foray into real online gaming, you people need to give them a chance to get it up. I know it took a while for online to launch for the systems that first forayed into online gaming (I know for a fact that the PS2 had online with advantage of ethernet.). With Mario Strikers Charged six days away from release this will mark Nintendo's first REAL online Wii game (unlike that pathetic pokemon game) so give them a chance to get their first online games out. Madden, Guitar Hero III, Bwii, Medal of Honor, Animal Crossing and many other games are going to take advantage of Nintendo WFC in the near future, which will have playable battles without friend codes. If then Nintendo truley screws up online then you can bash them. But so far the messenger system and WiiConnect24 have proven to be what Nintendo said they would be. Phantasy Star online is the ONLY game I can think of. Nintendo is getting serious about online this gen.

Tnasty11this is Nintendo's first foray into real online gaming the GC had online I'm almost positive it had 2 online games both of which were Phantasy Star game. Yes I must admit Nintendo has sadly been trudging behind without online and now they are starting to include online. Just wait until Striker arrives, play it, and then judge Nintendo's online.
no its really not ridiculous... how do they need time to get it up? how difficult is it? Xbox was doing this last gen... nintendo still cant get it together? They should have been coming out of the gate with online games instead of promising all this online integration and not doing anything...honestly I was expecting much more from my purchase. not as bad as sony's empty promises but still.. the messenger system and friends codes in general are very weak.

They promised and didn't delivered. They should be flamed by everyone.NobuoMusicMakerI see plans for Ninty online, the package just came a little late. But since we're talking about undelivered promises, let's talk about Sony seeing as your sig and avatar shows me you're a fanboy you're blind to what Sony promised and failed to deliver.

stop making excuses for nintendo. they are the only ones who do not have online and they could have done it along time ago. people are upset because they have not online to their consoles and had plenty of time to do so
Why does everyone want online multiplayer so damn badly? Its nice, but not everyone is a loser who sits on their PC or console yelling at people over the internet for killing them in a video game. I admire Nintendo's lack of support for multiplayer online. They want people to actually get together to have fun, and I wouldn't blame them.X_CAPCOM_X
online multiplayer s great. you must be kidding if you think nintendo does not have online because they want people to get together. online adds replaybility to games and is alot of fun.
On-line play is a low priority for most gamers. It's only a high priority for fanboys trying to justify why their consoles are better even though the Wii has been dominating sales since it's release.funbunny
No its not tell that to the 9 million world of warcraft players and the millions that play counter-strike and other games online.

I agree that online play is nice (I said it in the post above...), but the wii shouldn't turn into another one of those consoles that twelve-year-old children sit in front of while playing a mature rated game, swearing and screaming at other people over the internet. A lot of the Wii's games are more fun to play while sitting next to a friend or a few. Playing games like Elebits online would ruin the feeling, and it would be ridiculous.

yes because that is exactly what will happen if it had online. people only play mature games if they have online right?.
nintendo has no excues to not have online and online is not goiing to make peole buy m rated games and act immature.

Have you ever played online on a console or on a pc? Seriously why are you defending nintendo so much they can have all the sales they want but i dont see them getting the good games soon. Playing online is a new experiance from the single player game and if done well is alot better than the single player portion, heck last gen i was having a blast with MGO on my ps2 if a last gen console can do it why cant a next generation console do it?

It doesn't have to even be M rated, it just has to be competetive. I've played Street Fighter games on Kaillera and my opponents disparaged me so much.

online adds to the overall replaybility of a game. you do not have to have chat on if you do not want to. stop being closed minded. who honestly praises the lack of online for the wii?

It came out a few months ago in Europe and Australia. The online isn't spectacular, but there's nothing really wrong with it, either. Friend codes are only needed to play specific players/arrange 'tournaments' - every ranked match, as far as I can tell, pits you against a random opponent.
Playing online is a new experiance from the single player game and if done well is alot better than the single player portion

I'd totally disagree with that statement, and I play online games very frequently. Few online games can match the experience of a great single-player game - if you don't agree with that, then I suggest that you should go out and get some better games. :P
