TW2 is good but not GOTY. Lots of quality. Gears of war 3 and Forza too. But batman and uncharted front runners still based on batman metacritic and we all know uncharteds track record
Dark souls or skyrim will get rpg of the year. They fit that category perfect. Batman as a new ip this gen has best chance even though I love uncharted more. Uncharted got GOTY already and batman is a major improvement also. Not often we see a comic brought to videos done right
Even if skyrim beats the last one it still won't get GOTY. It won it already plus as already mentioned its easier to put that as rpg of the year due to its overall basis. New IPS and or great multiplayer usually get GOTY

Plus there all going against the only unbashed multiplatform game here in system wars. Batman is so well received amongst all hermits, lems, and cows alike. We all seen to agree on that for the most part
After reading about 10 previews from major sites... Apparently exploring Skyrim world for 2 hours is more fun than any game a reviewer has played this year.

Remember what got GOTY in 2009, it was not Uncharted 2, it was Demons Souls

Remember what got GOTY in 2009, it was not Uncharted 2, it was Demons Souls
But remember that Dark Souls hasn't really moved on from Demon Souls really so may be out of the running for GOTY.
Batman and Uncharted 3 are in the same boat as The Witcher 2, Portal 2, Gears 3 and forza 4. They all have the same chance but not as much as TES V: Skyrim.

This. Batman Arkham City is taking steps forward in what differentiates our medium from others (focuses on gameplay and what we can do with it). Uncharted is taking steps back IMO.
For personal GOTY between these two, it depends on if you like being a back seat driver (Uncharted) or being in the driver's seat (Arkham City).
In the running and winning are two different things. Portal 2 was good for what is was worth but Definetely not epic in anyone's right. Hasn't even benn mentioned around here. Gears 3 is the lowest scoring of the series as well as Forza. Didn't improve enough. Skyrim I'll give you has a chance but besides that it's still batman, with it's MAJOR improvement or UC3( doesn't need to be released yet, we've seen enough). And played if you like the full multiplayer like me

We use gamespot scores, not metacritic. Gears 3 got 9.5

GOTY here, pretty sure the people at Gamespot pick who wins their GOTY. So Gears 3 and Dark Souls have the best chance since they're the best scoring games this year. Gears 3 > Batman: AC. Dark Souls > Batman: AC We'll wait for UC3, but I doubt it'll score a 9.5 Now, no Gamespot doesn't have pick the highest scoring games, but until they actually pick, that's the only way of us indicating who has the best chance at winning.
I never implied they HAVE to pick the highest scoring game, was just throwing a few numbers out there. As for gears 3 getting a 9.5 here this is true, thus the reason I said well go ahead and put it in the running. Your one game greater then the other IMO are not facts toward the cause. Uncharted 3 could easily get a 9.5 here seeing its predecessor was one of the best games ever made in reviewers eyes. Most perfectt scores ever(can't remember exact amount). Anyways, they(gamespot) do pick the winner but we can still debate it here all we want. Just bring facts with your opinions
