Wow is all I can say. After watching this I really want to play the single player now.

Jog straight at a man shooting a machine gun directly at you from three meters away for kewl kewl scripted takedown.
I absolutely love how the game never stops, when you are killed it represents a death of a person during the war and then you take on the PoV of another soldier in the same battle, that's brilliant.
Looks like just another scripted military campaign.
Pretty much
This would have been cool five years ago.
All I want to know is what enhancements the PRO version will have. Is this 30 fps on all console platforms?
lol no. Even regular PS4 and Xbone versions will be 60fps if BF4 is anything to go by. Last time BF games were 30fps on consoles was during the PS3/360 era.
This game will most likely be 900p/60fps on regular PS4 and 720p/60fps on Xbone.
PS4 Pro will most likely be 4K Upscaled/60fps.

But that SW game they made was 30fps on consoles, I'm just guessing that their new engine is too demanding for consoles.
so far so good, I was just safely thinking like most Battlefield games it'd just have a mediocre SP but excellent MP but I'd be happy if it had both
It looks pretty meh, but the switching of soldiers when you die is an interesting mechanic. I'll probably play through it once, but I'm more hyped for the MP than anything.

No it wasn't. It was only 30fps in split screen MP.
SWBF is 60fps on PS4 and Xbone.

It will be 60 fps, but at 900p and 720p respectively on the consoles, I'm guessing. However, since it's 4k upscaled(most likely with medium options), it will still look much worse than 1080p ultra on PC.

Nope. I have BF on PC and PS4 and the PS4 version is a mix of mid and high settings. PS4 Pro will most likely be high PC settings at upscaled to 4K.
Frostbite engine is not really demanding at all. PS4 Pro will most likely handle it with ease.
Dice once again proving that they suck at SP campaigns. Take COD, put it in Ww1 setting, crank visuals to 9000 and you'll get this. Death mechanic looks like evolution of what we saw in Bad Company 2, which means no failure state or fear of death. Pass.

The PlayStation 4 Pro version will likely run at a resolution of around 2240x1260, so just a bit above 1080p.
Looks like garbage, guess I will be sticking to the multiplayer only. Seriously, I thought dice would make the campaign somewhat more immersive, instead almost everyone including the player runs around with either a machine gun, submachine-gun or a semi-automatic rifle. And why is it that most of the Germans in game still wear pickelhelmets during 1918. Also, the ai is as clumpy as always. Even Verdun is more true to world war 1 than this garbage, how a low budget indie dev manage to capture world war 1 far better than a triple AAA dev is just beyond me...
At least, the singleplayer could have given us the world war 1 feeling, but no, instead we get a poor cod campaign imitation.
Looks like they didn't put all that much effort in making these people feel alive other than showing their dates and names. It's missing that face to face immersion.
I think the idea of dying representing a common soldier is really cool. And the death animations were nicely done.
But it's too bad the AI looked brain dead as a shit stick. A soldier with a flamethrower doesn't even attempt to kill you....the guy in that video literally ran in front of him to shoot him in the back....and the guy with the flamethrower just stood there trying to burn the tank as if it were made of wood.
Pass until a sale.
Looking forward jumping back into a world war setting.
Getting a bit sick of double boost jump knee slide wall run in space setting.
Think it looked awesome! Basically they have focused on letting you experience various war scenarios and if you die you respawn into something else. I can understand if some think the gameplay looks a little flat, but I view it more like being put into the middle of WW1 and just take it all in.

absolutely. there is not death mechanic in this game. you killed. you play as different character over and over again. its like prince of persia 2008 where everytime you died Elika save you. casual trash. waste of time
*goes back to Doom*
Seriously, I thought dice would make the campaign somewhat more immersive,
why care about DICE SP when we have Doom and shadow warrior 2?
even Titanfall 2 SP can be good if EA donot screwed it up. Even DICE SP only franchise mirrors edge suck too.

There hasn't been a good futuristic setting FPS in a long time.
So, I'm still waiting to get my fatigue of that sort. The modern military shooters aren't that far from the World War shooters at their core. Still sick after years of playing both those scenario types...first the WW2 types: COD, COD2, the COD xpacs Medal of Honor, Day of Defeat, BF 1942, then modern: COD4 until BLOPS 2, Medal of Honor, BF2, BF3 BF4, BF BC1, BFBC2.
So you never really die. Great. Remove any tension a game could create by offering no consequence for reckless play. Zero challenge, zero need for tactics, let's just run around the battlefield and go superman on 'em. And the AI is just cannon fodder. I mean gawd, you just gonna stand there with that flamethrower and watch me as I attempt to flank you? Fffffff....
Oh but the graphics are nice. That makes it all better.

Yeah but we've seen: Advanced Warfare, Titanfall, Black Ops... all of that modern/Sci fi FPS in so short a time.
It's nice to have this ... authentic feeling war again :)

I actually disliked the graphics, but apart from that liked everything in the trailer: The feel of the battlefield, audio quality, weaponry, ...
I can't wait to turn off depth of field... anyways: this is the intro section of the game. You keep dying until you end up with one of the main characters.
The rest of the campaign will not be you just respawning over and over as new soldiers.
@R4gn4r0k: Well that's a relief. And what's not to like about the graphics? Lack of color?
IDK maybe I'm expecting too much but it just feels like every other shooter only in a seldom used setting. Eh, maybe I'm just burnt on pew pews in general.

Why even bother making good interesting games when there's people like TC? People like him is why we have Call of Duty 17, and it still sells. Personally, I'm not even touching that crappy filler mode.

Its not even COD level of bad and casual. this is prince of persia 2008 equivalent of FPS genre where you cant even die and no challange.
You can't tell from this if it's good. If anything, there's not a single good SP battlefield out there. An engaging single player of this type of game needs lots of voice acting and linear story if you ask me.
It's not beating COD in campaign mode, ever. They've been doing it right since 2003.

This mechanic is prologue only. You die in later levels, its restart checkpoint.
The first level death mechanics are there to show you the lethality of WWI. And in the prologue, you will die. The game will force it.
Not sure why people are praising this mechanic.
In a game like Red Orchestra, which simulates waves over a timer with an objective, spawning and running carelessly in the open will almost instantly result in death, punishing the player with squandered time, forcing the player to stop and think about self preservation in direct contrast to going on the offensive.
In that footage, he runs at a man with a machine-gun firing at him, not really giving a shit, because he knows he will spawn. Rather than highlighting how tenuous human life was, it directly removes it.

The mechanic is for first level only, The Storm of Steel.
The rest of the campaign has specific protagonists where if you die, you restart checkpoint.

Yeah I agree... I'm over these types of shooters.
Maybe I'll play it one day when it's on special.

From what I've seen, BF4 is more akin to medium settings than any high settings. Perhaps post processing might be on high, but mostly everything is medium, and perhaps even a low or 2.
That's also what a lot of things seem to say... http://n4g.com/news/1342600/battlefield-4-on-ps4-comparable-to-medium-settings-on-pc-night-and-day-difference-to-current-gen

If doing it right is being riddled with plot holes, unable to jump over waist high fences, having wave based gameplay where you have to reach a checkpoint, and recycling scenes from older campaigns, then I want to be wrong.
