Battlefield 1943: 360 vs. PS3 contest

In addition to the ongoing efforts to get everything running smoothly, a contest just started up today (spotted on the BF 1943 Twitter), called the Coral Sea Challenge. The competition pits Xbox 360 gamers against PlayStation 3 owners, and the first platform userbase to reach 43 million kills unlocks the fourth map, appropriately titled Coral Sea. We've included a screen of the current kill tally below, which is being tracked on theBattlefield 1943 official site.

I didnt know that it was a contest between 360 and PS3. Well Im doing my part on 360 with close to a 1000 kills, and Im not able to get in a match often and can never get a match with friends.

haha, more companys should do this imo, its a great idea.

both are doing really well with a 3:2 ratio towards the xbox but it also came out a day earlier

Yea but not by much. So that really has nothing to do with this. Its all about how many is on. Its not like the DS3 is broken for shooters.

The game wasn't very fun, I downloaded the demo and it is a dissapointment to the battlefield series, also its a pretty ugly game

Why are people saying they will get kills to help?

They should run around and get killed and let others get kills even faster if they wanna help.

I have a feeling the 360 side are going to win this one, larger install base helps. I think i'll still get it on PS3 though, I'm broke at the moment and I don't want to have to pay for more XBL.

that still means that it was released earlier which concludes to a very likely higher amount of sales though doesnt it?

I REALLY want to get this, but I also REALLY want 'Splosion Man, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Shadow Complex, so I think I'll wait.
