Battlefield 2, best multiplayer game ever?

honestly like 4 years later and i havent played nething that has come close to BF2, who agrees this was and currently is the best online multiplayer FPS?

i just hope for them to finish BF: Heroes, so they can move on to BF3!

I havent played it for a while though...ever since I started playing the Project Reality mod, I have not been able to go back to vannila BF2.

I agree, once a while i even fire up the first battlefield.

Hell no, the game had so much tectnical issues at launch...in fact, the fact that it was able to recieve AAA scores, despite being released in essencially Beta format is a huge testiment to its gameplay.

Natural Selection is in many ways better. The people playing that game actually communicate with each other.insanejedi

PR saved BF2 from the dustbin for me when it evertually turned into the nade spamming, dolphin diving, jet whoring horror that it is today.

I never ever liked Battlefield 2.

I think the same thing about Call of Duty.

No the game was terrible if you ask me.

Weapons are unbalanced and infantry combat is no fun. Vehicles are very unbalanced and pretty much rule the battlefield especially Jets which can just consistently bombard basses killing everyone that spawns their. Its like Spawn camping except your in the air.

Their is also tons of nade spam and the grenades splash damage is way to large if you ask me.

Overall the game is a big mess. Its impossible to do anything and squads are cool in all but they really don't add much to the game.

Epic and Valve are the best IMO.

I've never played Battlefield 2 on PC. But from what I've seen, read, and heard, it is one of the best MP games of all time :). And I feel it is.

I've never played Battlefield 2 on PC. But from what I've seen, read, and heard, it is one of the best MP games of all time :). And I feel it is.

One of the best multiplayer games for sure.

Hardly any games hold a candle to it.

The best though.... I cant say there is a singlebest - other games like Team Fortress, Tribes, Quake, Counter Strike would be up there though.

But really, I used to be a PC gamer mostly before I couldn't keep up with buying new hardware as a kid. Then my parents would buy me consoles (PS1, PS2, GCUBE, and XBOX), and I've stuck with them since then.

After getting the next consoles my self, now I'm saving up for super PC and my gaming life will be what it was back in the day :).

2142 is much improved on 2, IMO the main reason it never took off like 2 was the outrageous bump in system requirements to run it well, but BF2 started going downhill once they started nerfing things because of crybabies, the game was at its peak when the minigun was actually a minigun, and not a peashooter.

And to whoever said that dolphin diving is bad today, lol.

BF2....Best game I have ever played.

The Battlefield games made me love Online gaming.

Agree 100%. Every one is awesome, and each has improved on a great formula.

BF2 and Counterstrike.

I love these games too much. It's... Been so long.

I think I've enjoyed SSBM more than BF2, but it's been a while since I had a decent PC to play on.

yes there was a niche in BF2 I LOVED: 64 player city maps only, FF on, no bs admin rules, server with mostly good players. Not much beated the fun of squading up with my buddies and playing a couple hours straight every saturday morning.

but that was like < 1% of all the servers which all died out to the abomination of IO servers

Bad Company has superior.

bf2 was the better game but bf 2142 had better chat system

both are better then any fps out this gen

It's a good one but i would say Counter Strike is better.

I liked the single player but... the game just never made sense to me. Why did Dice leave in the ability to repeatedly dive shoot? Why can you bunny hop about 6 feet in the air? What is the point in unlocking new guns when it's essentially a game about driving tanks and flying planes?

The game is warped and the special forces add on doesn't do anything but provide new maps and SAS members with post WWII posh accents and the wrong dress code.
