No it doesn't count origins. Hmm,still. Cool.[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]
Dayum.
Does this include DD?soulitane
"Now additional data from third party sales trackers reveals the breakdown of the sales, i.e. how many units were sold on each platform, in approximate numbers." Riiiight because places like vgchartz are always so accurate
This report is from October 31. The game only released in EU on the 28th so the majority of those 5 million copies were sold in NA, which is known for being X360 centric. So we need more time to take any sort of conclusions.
Yep, data comes straight from VG Chartz..."Now additional data from third party sales trackers reveals the breakdown of the sales, i.e. how many units were sold on each platform, in approximate numbers." Riiiight because places like vgchartz are always so accurate

Did any of you guys read this? This report is useless.
Right now pc has 95,732 players online, ps3 has 134,501 and 360 has 203,321! Its kinda sad that this game, were development was focused mostly on pc and had MASSIVE hype from pc gamers, still was significantly outsold by consoles! Confirms what I already know....though some hermits seem to want to deny...that consoles outsell pc in the majority of multiplats especially those that are "high budget"! And no chart showing how much money pc gaming brings in is going to convince me otherwise! That said to me sales mean nothing to me...and pc gets the best versions of the games so thats my platform of choice! I just hate when people inflate how much games actually sell on pc....if that were the case pc versions of games would not be delayed and pc would have more high budget exclusives than the very few they have now!dom2000

Most PC gamers are from Europe and Asia. Guess what time it is in Europe and Asia right now?

It is near past midnight in Europe and Asia....where PC gaming outdoes Console gaming. Go look at the Steam activity chart. Numbers start going downwards around this time.
[QUOTE="OneLazyAsian"]Well based on current online players, which logically as least somewhat correlates to total sales, they are not far off!Rofl. Their "third party sources" is vgchartz. You guys can go home now. Nothing to see here.

No they are not. And online players don't correlate with sales. Proof? Look at the Wii.

Not counting PC DD again.
You also should know that PC games never have very high day one sales except for a few Blizzard games. They sell far better over their lives. That is why BC2 outsold the consoles combined after awhile. Thanks to DD and PC games selling well over their lives.

Americans tend to forget that a whole world exists past their borders...

With a game that the majority of players brought for multiplayer? Um...yea i think it does (somewhat). The Wii is completely different.....why even bring it up?

OK...i will check tomorrow at a more modest time to see how much the story changes! If the pc numbers rise above the consoles (which i HIGHLY doubt) i will admit i just got owned
[QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]Trying look around 10am - 3pm Eastern Standard Time.dom2000ok :) expect a pm with the results whatever they are! This is exciting isnt it? :P I'm interested as well....I'm not saying PC sales outdid console sales btw...
And I am one of those digital download buyers. :P I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 topped out at #1, but beating the PS3 + PC combined is far-fetched. Well, maybe if they made this more of a true Battlefield game, then maybe it would have done better on PC's. I think some PC gamers are still holding out because they're waiting for things to be changed and they're not happy about certain features or lack there off being present in its current state. I'll be honest, I'm not having much fun in BF3. And I wasn't expecting much from it either. I just wanted to have a blast, but it certainly doesn't feel that way. doesn't count PC digital

And Dice down talking console versions to try and win back PC hearts....Ouchproxy-served
Now it's apparent exactly what you are doing, more so than before
Seriously, the numbers are wrong, so ignoring that fact just to annoy people does nothing more than make one look... Well, rather silly.
And Dice down talking console versions to try and win back PC hearts....Ouchproxy-servedSo much damage control, whose alt are you? Seriously, nearly everyone is saying that they arent counting DD sales and you arent even listening. You're Pathetic.

No doubt that the numbers are not accurate. Doesn't accurately account for digital sales. But we can't honestly ignore the fact that BF3 was catered more for newcomers, then paying tribute to BF2 and the fans. Let's face it. That's the truth. But if BF3 is fun, then it's all gravy, I guess. I get a Bad Company + MOH2010 vibe from it, more so than BF2. Just sayin'. :)With a game that the majority of players brought for multiplayer? I want to see your proof that the majority of the people buying this game for multiplayer. And the reason I bought up the Wii is to prove to you that online players don't correlate with sales.
